Houhora. —24th ultimo, from the dwelling of ERNEST SHINE, farmer, Waiharara, a box (recovered), containing two £5 notes; three £1 notes; a silver Rotherhams watch, with “P. Shine ” and “ E. Shine ” on inside of back case ; a silver open-face keyless Swiss watch, glass broken; a petrified-wood pendant which has been repaired with a gold band; a rolled-gold small twisted-link watch-chain, with a greenstone pendant attached; a 9 ct. gold square locket; and a gold-mounted Onoto fountain pen, with “ E.S.” on gold band: total value, £2B 15s. 6d. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. —22nd ultimo, from the person of ARTHUR FRANK MOGINIE, storeman, Tiri Road, Takapuna, a black-leather pocket-wallet, 6 in. by 4 in., containing a £5 note, six £1 notes, and a cheque for £G 155., from cheque book No. 412981 to 413011, on the Union Bank of Australasia. Wallet and cheque only identifiable.

On the sth instant the dwelling of WILFRED JOHNSTON, farmer, Papatoctoe, was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A pair of gentlemen’s tan boots, size 10 ; a pair of black trousers ; a tin of black Nugget polish ; a plate ; and a pound of butter : total value, £6 12s. lOd. Auckland. —On the 19th ultimo the premises of the KAIPARA WINE COMPANY in Stanley Street were broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A LeeEnfield rifle and Mauser rifle and fifty cartridges (recovered); a Turkish sword, 24 in. long ; and a Turkish sword, about 30 in. long : total value, £8 3s. 3d. Between June and October last, from a bush run at Oratia, the property of ANDREW MOORHEAD and JOHN MOORHEAD, farmers, a red-and-white three-year-old Shorthorn heifer, with “ J.M.” on rump; a brown-and-yellow brindle Shorthorn Jersey cow, white star on forehead, “ J.M. ” on rump; a red roan three-year-old Shorthorn springing heifer, right hock swollen, with “ A.M.” on rump ; and a grey roan ten-year-old cow with tilted horns, “ A.M.” on left rump : total value, £47. Identifiable.

Te Aroiia.—During the night of the 13th instant, from Church Street, the property of LANGLEY HOWARD SHEARMAN, police constable, Raurimu, a five-seatcr Ford motor-car, 1919 model, body, and hood painted black, lightcoloured wheels with movable rims, fawn canvas over upholstering, small square out of right bottom corner of radiator, shock-absorbers on front and rear springs, Ajax, Odfield, Goodrich, and Stuart tires, lamps No. K.I.E. 233 ; a full set of tools ; a dictionary bearing the Shearman coat-of-arms; a pair of tennis-shoes, size 10 ; and a brown woollen rug: total/valufe, £l7B 11s. Gd. Identifiable.

Raetihi. —20tp ultimo, from a bedroom at the Pipiriki Hotel, the property of DORRIS AYTON, waitress, a gold wristlet large watch ; value, £ls. Identifiable. Suspicion, is attached to Charles Halle Hellawell, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. Gin., farmer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Hastings. —MßS. DAVIS’S rug stolen : . The suspect, Alick Lambert, has been interviewed by the Patutahi police, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1922, page 520.)

Wanganui. —On or about the 15th October last, the property of JAMES HENRY, Steward, Public Hospital, a dark-brown aged hack gelding, 14| hands, white blaze on face, one white hind fetlock; value, about £lO. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Walter Waddell, age about twentyseven, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and seaman, native of Scotland, strong build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, scar on upper lip. He borrowed the horse from complainant and failed to return it. Between the 10th and 12th ultimo, from the dwelling of PEARL BRANDEIS, 144 Willis Street, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold half-hoop ring, set with five diamonds in claw setting ; and a ladies’ gold ring, set with eight diamonds in a cluster with a pearl in centre, in claw setting with platinum tips : total value, £42. Identifiable.

Wellington. —9th July last, from the- s.s. City of Bagdad,” the property of GEORGE HILL, wharf labourer, 105 Freyberg Street, Lvall Bay, an 18 ct. gold ring, set with a diamond in claw setting ; an 18 ct. gold fetter watch-chain with brass links in it (bar missing); a gold oblong locket; and a Boyproof watch, with “ Hill ” scratched on back case ; value, £SO.

Wellington. —l9th ultimo, from the shop of the CLYDE VULCANISTS, 4 Clyde Quay, a circular thermomanometer indicator, 3 in. in diameter, glass dial on each side, nickel rim, screw stem ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Wellington.—6th instant, from BERTHA MAUD WHITE’S dwelling, 14 Murphy Street, three £1 notes, and a navy-blue embroidered underskirt; total value, £4 12s. Gd. Skirt only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Rose Oakes, age thirteen, stout build, fresh complexion, brown long curly hair, round features ; dressed in a grey flannel dress and a large white hat with pink ribbons.

Christchurch. —4th October last, from the Sydenham Football Hall, the property of VICTOR VERON GALLAGER, 43 Fisher Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Butler bicycle, No. 24529 over 794, outrigger racing-handles, Dunlop tires, Mansfield saddle; value, £7. Identifiable.
