Kawakawa. — On or about the 19th instant the shop of HANNAH DAWSON, draper, was broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom : About 6 yards of grey floral foulard, a ladies’ fawn or brown shot-silk hat, a blue knitted jumper, a gold bangle, two strings of dark beads, and several pairs of silk and cashmere hose total value, £8 19s. sd. Identification doubtful.

Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), traveller, age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, narrow forehead, round face, short moustache. He was sharing a room with complainant when the theft was committed.

Frankton Junction. —lßth August last, from a railwaycarriage, the property of FREDERICK RICHARD KELSEY, Government House, Wellington, an oilskin naval overcoat; value, £3. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about fifty-five, height about 5 ft. 5 in., strong build, fresh complexion, grey hair and moustache, large face.

Kirikiriroa. —22nd ultimo, from a paddock, the property of DAVID ELDER, builder, McFarlane Street, Hamilton, a dark-bay gelding with black points, about 15 hands, long tail; and a horse-cover, with “D. Elder ” on each side : value, £l2. Identifiable.

Ruatorea.— TUPAßOA TRADING COMPANY’S shop broken into : Noema Kaiwai has been arrested for this offence by the Ruatorea and Tokomaru Bay police! The property has not been recovered. (See Police Gazette, 1923, page 511.)

Taumarunui. — instant, from the dwelling of BERNARD McMASTERS, farmer, Taringamutu, a light-grey rainproof overcoat; value, £6. Identifiable. Suspicion is - attached to Alexander Neilson, alias Nelson, age thirty, height 5 ft. 8 in., native of New Zealand, medium build, fair hair and complexion, clean-shaved ; dressed in a blue suit, light cap, and tan boots. Palmerston North. —l7th ultimo, from a shed at WILLIAM HENRY MOORE’S dwelling at 226 Featherston Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel 24 in. Ivanhoe bicycle, No. 812599, “ C.C.M.” on frame, Landsend tires ; value, £l3 10s. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. —sth ultimo, from the Presbyterian Church, the property of ALAN GODFREY CRESSWELL, 22 Morris Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel 24 in. B.S.A. bicycle, No. 69302, upturned handles with a black-and-a-white grip, red tires ; value, £7 10s. Identifiable.

Masterton. — 11th instant, from the premises of RIGG BROS., builders, £3l in notes and silver.

Petone. —Bth instant, from behind the Palace Picturetheatre, the property of ERNEST HUIA KING, 33 Nelson Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel 22 in.
