SPECIAL INQUIRY.
Waikouaiti. —lnquiries are to be made to establish the identity of a Man (name unknown) whose body, on the 23rd April, 1923, was found in a paddock about 100 yards from the Waikouaiti River : Age about fifty-three, height about 6 ft., dark-brown hair turning grey, reddish-brown clipped moustache, short side whiskers from moustache across to ears, large nose ; dressed in a dark-tweed suit, blue-striped shirt, black lace-up nailed boots, leather belt, greenish handkerchief round neck. Deceased was camping in a tent on the bank of the Waikouaiti River which overflowed, and he is believed to have been drowned, whilst endeavouring to escape from the flood. The contents of the tent were washed away. If any information regarding deceased is obtained a communication is to be sent to the Superintendent of Police, Dunedin. « a J 5 /j /
