Kaitaia. Between the 9th February and the 31st March last, from GEORGE SULENTA’S hut at Waipapakauri, a silver eight-day hunting-watch, No. 424143, “ G.S.” on dial ; a gold buckle locket with ivy-leaves on it; and als ct. gold double -chain, similar to illustration No. 7 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 1 : total value, £lB. Identifiable.

Newton. — l7th March last, from the person of FRANK HENRY WOODARD, 15 Arcadia Road, whilst asleep in the Western Park, a 9 ct. gold curb watch-chain, similar to illustration No. 15 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 2 ; a gold book-shaped locket ; a silver sovereign-case, with “ F.11.W.” on it ; a white-metal double-faced watch ; a black Ansco camera, No. 27406 ; and a black-leather wallet, containing about 10s. : total value, about £ls 15s. Newton.— On the night of the 3rd instant the premises of HUGH WRIGHT (LIMITED), tailors, Karangahape Road, were broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A mole-gabardine costume with silk lining, with two big clasps in front ; a mole-gabardine costume with silk lining ; a -gabardine frock, blue collar with steel trimmings ; a navy-gabardine frock with red facings ; a navy-and-green woollen frock ; a black-and-white woollen frock ; a jade-and-blaek woollen frock ; twelve navy-blue gabardine and serge frocks, trimmed with braid and some with fur ; a black-fur coat with mole collar, coloured cotton lining ; a saxe-blue-velour coat, trimmed with black fur on collar, sleeves, and bottom ; three velour coats, bright saxe-blue, small set in sleeves, fur roll collars; a velour coat (self stripe navy colour) ; three pairs of ladies’ black-silk hose ; a greymarabout necklet; and a black-marabout necklet: total value, about £l4O. Identifiable/except hosiery. Auckland. 6th January last, from a waiting-shed near the Ferry Buildings, the property of ALBERT STEPHEN PERRIN, Mercury Bay, a butter-box, containing motormechanic’s books, including two motor manuals ; a motor workshop, turners’ and fitters’ -guide ; a book on metalturning, by Marshall a will; and a miner’s right certificate and birth-certificate in complainant’s name ; and a small spirit-lamp : total value, about £2. Identifiable.

Auckland. — On or about the 17th March last, from the Motor-lorry Association Store at 2 Little Queen Street, the property of MARY EVANS, 17 Arawa Street, a brown wooden trunk with brass fittings, “ A.E.” in red on one side, containing a grey suit with “ Curtin Bros., London,” on neck and on inside of breast-pocket of coat; a gentlemen’s green woollen half -lined overcoat, vent at back ; a gentlemen’s umbrella ; a pair of black leggings ; six linen collars, sizes 16 and 16| ; five books, with “Arthur Evans” on each ; two silver tea-sets (lid of one teapot fastened with gold wire ; four knives : four forks ; four dessert-spoons ; a carving knife and steel ; and an ebony tray with a glass top : total value, £29 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. — 11th ultimo, from JEAN RODGERS’ shop at 18 College Hill Road, a ladies’- black-leather handbag with flap-top and strap, containing five £1 notes, about £2 in silver, and several receipts and papers ; total value, about £B. Bag only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Youth (name unknown), age about sixteen, height about 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, round* shoulders ; dressed in a knickerbocker suit ; speaks slowly.

Auckland.— WlLLlAM HENRY SCOTT’S watch, &c., stolen : The 'suspect, John Norton, has been interviewed by the Auckland police, but no evidence resulted. Ellerslie. —2nd February last, from a shed in Mount Smart Road, Penrose the property of GEORGE and WILLIAM PARSONS, carpenters, Great South Road, an Atkins rip-saw and an Atkins hand-saw, “ G.A.P.” in handle of each ; a steel tape, 100 ft. long and f in. wide, “L. S. Glarroll, maker, M. A. Parsons,” scratched on case ; a clawhammer ; a ratchet-brace; a draw-knife, with “W. A. Parsons ”on handle : total value, £4 14s. Identifiable.

Waihi. —2lst February last, between Karangahake and Katikati, the property of MRS. A. JOHNSTON, Talisman Hotel, Katikati, a ladies’ gold chased hunting Waltham watch ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Opotiki. — 7th ultimo, from the dwelling of ROBERT HUDSON, carpenter, Goring Road, a (Calibre single Winchester rifle, No. 58785 y value, £4. Identifiable. . Gisborne. 2lst ultimo, from the shop of FREDERICK JAMES JEUNE, sailmaker, Bright Street, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold open-face Waltham watch, a 9 ct. gold fetter-and-single-link watch-chain, and a silver sovereign-case, containing ten sovereigns, and an American five-dollar gold piece ; total value, £35. Watch and chain only identifiable.

Taiuape. —GEOßGE PEACOCK’S home, &c., stolen: The suspect, Jack Langdon, has been arrested on other charges by the Napier police. No evidence regarding this offence was obtained. He is identical with James Thomas, alias Trevarthan, &c., referred to in Apprehensions, this issue. (See Police Gazette, 1922, page 6, and following paragraph.)

Pahiatua.— THOMAS SCALES’S rings, &c., stolen: The suspect, James Thomas, alias Bray, alias Trevarthan, alias Brady, alias Harry Grey, has been arrested on other charges by the Napier police. New Plymouth. On the 2nd February last the dwelling of NORMAN LOVELL was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A silver cigarette-case, with “ N.L.” on it; and a tin of apricots : total value, £3 Is. Cigarette-case identifiable.

Napier. 3lst March last, from Hastings Street, the property of WILLIAM HENRY BOND, carpenter, 22-4 Hastings Street, a gentlemen’s green-enamelled free-wheel bicycle, straight handles, back-pedalling brake, new tires ; value, £5 10s. Identifiable.

Dannevirke. On the 29th ultimo the dwelling of JOHN DOWNEY, farmer, Hicks Bay, was broken into, and two £lO notes on the Bank of New Zealand, four £1 notes, and 17s. Bd. in silver stolen therefrom. Not identifiable.

Dannevirke. —On the 29th ultimo the dwelling of WILLIAM JONES, engine-driver, 10 Swinbum Street, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A gentlemen’s black-enamelled bicycle, upturned handles without grips, back-pedalling brake, axle of front wheel inclined to right side, one saddle-spring broken ; a ladies’ silver hunting Geneva Swiss watch, No. 188456 ; and a black-leather purse, containing ss. : total value, £ll ss. Dannevirke. —On the 29th ultimo the dwelling of ARTHUR GEORGE CLARK, draper, 19 Victoria Avenue, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom: A ladies’ gold open-face wristlet watch, cracked glass ; and ss. : total value, £l3 18s. Watch identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Mason, age about twenty-five, height about sft. sin., strong build, ruddy complexion, auburn hair; wearing a grey coat and grey-felt hat.

Palmerston North. —31st March last, from outside the railway-station, the property of CONSTANCE VIOLETTO ALCOCK, 32 Wood Street, a ladies’ black-enamelled freewheel 22 in. Argyle bicycle, No. 93082, upturned reversible handles with black grips, rubber pedals, Eadie Coaster hub, Barnet-Glass red tires ; value, £l2. Identifiable.

Wellington.
