PERSONS WANTED.

Houhora. —21st July last, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Clara Hibbert, Waihopo, William Henry Hibbert, age forty-five (looks younger), height about 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and gum-digger, native of Australia, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair, long nose, thin face, portion of right forefinger missing; dressed in a green-striped grey-serge suit. He is strange in his manner and says his wife is deceiving him. He is identical with William Henry Hibbits, referred to in Police Gazette, 1922, page 523.

Whangarei.—7th October last, on warrant for assault on Eileen Spriggs, domestic, Hikurangi, Alexander McLennan, age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 6 in., butcher, native of Scotland, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, brown prominent eyes ; usually dressed in a dark|suit and soH-fjdthsd of Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —4th instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Elsie Thompson, Takapuna, and four children, Frederick George Nilson Thompson, age about thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 8 in., traveller and caretaker, slight build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, two scars on back of left ear, scar on neck ; dressed in a navyblue suit, tan or nigger-brown boots, and Dr. Jim hat. Palmerston North. —10th instant, on two warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for fourteen days on each in default of paying £3 19s. (£2 13s. and £1 65.) fines and costs for theft and obscene language, John James Ross, alias Daniel Barrett, alias James Palm, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. in., labourer and butcher, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, blue marks on left cheek ; coat-of-arms, woman’s head, clasped hands over heart, “ True Love,’.’ and fern on right forearm ; flags, home-shoe, horse’s head, hand, and cross on left forearm. Palmerston North. —llth instant, on two warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for fourteen days on each in default of paying £5 (£2 10s. on each) fines and costs for two breaches of his prohibition order, Daniel Shehan, alias Sheahon, age fifty-three, height 5 ft. 7 in., watchmaker, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion, dark hair, blue eyes. Levin. —Ist ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation, Percy James McCallum, alias McCormack, age thirty-four, height 5 ft. 7J in., labourer and wireless operator, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, scar on right middle finger. Wellington. —l4th instant, that he may be located with the view of having him committed to an industrial school, Leslie John Reid, age fourteen, height 5 ft., native of New Zealand, fair freckled complexion, sandy hair, sharp features. Inquiry by his parents, 15 Fallowjield Avenue, who are unable to control .

Wellington. lsth instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Olive Edith De Berry, 2 Courtenay Place, Frederick Clarence De Berry, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 9 in., strong build, fair hair and complexion, grey eyes, square nose and chin, full face, one gold tooth, mole on one side of face. He is supposed to be living with Mrs. May Campbell (age forty, tall, slight build), who has three children, ages fourteen to eighteen. His photograph is filed in the Inspector’s Office, Wellington.

Wellington. —4th November last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for one month in default of paying £5 fine for theft, Cyril George Kennedy, age nineteen, height 5 ft. in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, pointed nose, clean-shaved. Wellington. —l9th instant, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for three months in default of paying £2O arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, Harry Urquhart, alias Welch, age thirtyseven, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer and bushman, native of New Zealand, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, long nose, scroll and “ Muriel ”on right upper arm. Wellington. —l6th instant, on 1 warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Barbara McTaggart, and four children, Robert William George McTaggart, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 11 in., barman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, ring on left middle finger, two spots on left arm, spot on back of left hand. Wellington. —l6th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his brother, Edward R. O’Flaherty, an inmate of the Boys’ Training Farm, Nelson, Claude O’Flaherty, age about fortytwo, height 5 ft. 10 in., ex tramway employee, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes. Coalgate. —l2th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Eva Hester Williams, Hororata, James Henry Williams, age thirty height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of Wales, strong build, fresh complexion, fair hair going bald, grey eyes, pierced heart and “ Heath before dishonour ” on left forearm, scar under left eyebrow, red mark on front of head ; well dressed in an American-cut grey suit with small pink stripes, and chocolate-coloured boots; well spoken; when conversing holds in his left hand slightly raised his cigarette. He is at present in Sydney (Australia), but will probably return to this Dominion. /

Christchurch. —2nd October last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Edith Muriel Curtis, William John Curtis, alias Patrick Hannan, age thirty-eight, height about 5 ft. 9 in., labourer and sawmill hand, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark sallow complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, clean-shaved. His photograph is filed in the Inspector’s Office, Christchurch. Arrears to 4th July last, £llO 4s.

Dunedin. 7th October last, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Violet Thackwell, 216 Taranaki Street, Wellington, Leslie Charles Thackwell, alias Thompson, alias Hopkins, alias Thomas, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and plasterer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and complexion, brown eyes, large nose, burn-scar on right elbow ; usually dressed in a dark suit and Dr. Jim hat.
