Between the 13th and 14th ultimo, from a shed at the wharf, the property of DAVID BRAIDWOOD, 2 Wanganui Avenue, a brownleather handbag, with “ D. 8.” on one side, containing a brush and comb, a shaving-outfit, a cap, two Indian handbags, a pair of moccasins, and two letters addressed to complainant ; total value, £3 19s. Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). 9th ultimo, from luggage on the s.s. “ Manuka,” the property of GORDON BERNARD SPARKS, Wairoa, Cambridge, a No. 2 Autographic Folding Junior Kodak camera ; value, £4. Not identifiable.

AND COUSINS AND COUSINS (LIMITED), coachbuilders, in Kitchener Street, a nickel 22-calibre seven-chambered Iver Johnson revolver, No. 11321 ; a tan-leather attache-case, tan lining ; a Stewart V Ray motor-car searchlight, with an adjustable clip for windscreen, and a reflector at back; two black keyless Auto clocks, with fittings for dashboard; a brass Auto clock, without fittings ; a nickel double-contact dashboard lamp ; and four pairs of tan-leather gauntlet gloves : total value, £l7 lbs. Auckland. On the 7th ultimo PETEDUVA JANIS’S dwelling in Hobson Street was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A gentlemen’s rolled-gold open-face keyless watch, with “L. Bevan ” on inner case ; an 18 ct. gold curb double watch-chain ; and a silver cigarette-holder case : total value, £ll 15s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Two men (names unknown). Description : (1) Age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, dark hair and complexion ; dressed a dark-tweed overcoat, and black-felt hat. (2) Age about twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, pale complexion ; dressed in a grey suit and grey-felt hat.
Auckland. 2oth ultimo, from a tram-car in Victoria Street, the property of WILLIAM MAYOR, 39 Clarence Street, a brown-leather Gladstone bag, with “ W.M.” in black on one side, containing a blue costume made by Schneideman, Auckland; a ladies’ raincoat with tom pockets ; a pink and a white crepe de Chine blouse ; a pair of ladies’ shoes, size 6, with three straps and buckles on them ; a white blanket with a hole in centre ; a quantity of girls’ clothing ; and a No. 2 Brownie camera : total value, £3O, Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 7 in., strong build, dark hair and complexion.
Auckland. —11th ultimo, from ANNIE KERR’S shop at 370 Dominion Road, a black-taffeta one-piece silk dress, with three silk bands round it, skirt scolloped at bottom, neck drawn with elastic; value, £9 9s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Woman (name unknown), age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 2 in., medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes; dressed in a grey costume, white-silk blouse, and a straw hat.
Auckland. —l7th ultimo, in Howe or Exmouth Streets, the property of HYPATIA MARTIN, 9 Cauldrey Street, a black-leather handbag, containing a single-bar brooch, set with nine garnets ; a gold ring, set with three garnets ; and a gold-cased oval locket, set with brilliants in a spray, containing two photographs, 9 ct. gold chain attached : total value, £lO. Identifiable.
Auckland. 2Bth September last, the property of ANNIE ALICE BLACKWELL, Kaipara, a brown-leather small purse, containing a gold ring, set with five sapphires, with “ A.K.” on inside ; and 10s. : total value, £ll. Identifiable except money.
Auckland. Between the 2nd and 4th instant, the property of ALICE JUNITA O’DONNELL, 22 West Street, a ladies’ gold ring, set with five diamonds in claw setting; value, £ls. Identifiable.
Te Aroha. —On or about the Ist instant the office at the railway-station was broken into, and the following, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT, stolen therefrom : A second-class return railway ticket, Te Aroha to Te Kuiti, No. 76 ; a second-class single ticket, No. 641, Te Aroha to Te Kuiti; a second-class single ticket, No. 706, Te Aroha to Taumarunui; a second-class single ticket, No. 422, Te Aroha to Okoroire ; and a first-class return ticket, No. 45, Te Aroha to Matamata : total value, £2 10s. 9d. Pukekohe. -HAROLD WALTER PLEYDELL’S watch, &c., stolen : The suspect, Francis Thomas Cornish Baker, has been interviewed and his effects searched by the Auckland police, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1922, page 631.)
Matamata. the 10th June and the 31st July last, from the Presbytery, the property of REV. CONNOLLY, a small Ansco camera, which takes No. 2 Brownie film ; value, £3 12s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Cecil Reginald Albert Rickaby, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes. Taumarunui.-HAUPAPA WHAKAURUHANGA’S dwelling broken into : James Ferdinand Madam and George Carolen Brennan have been arrested for the offence by the Taumarunui police, and one £2O note recovered. (See Police Gazette, 1922, page 139.)
Taumarunui. —27th ultimo, from the roadside, the property of WILLIAM McKONE, Matapuna, a split-cane fishing-rod with steel centre, and a large wooden reel attached ; value, £ls. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Charles Dreaver, age forty, height 5 ft. 7 in., mill hand, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, cleanshaved. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.
New Plymouth. —On or about the 2nd June last, from a storeroom at the Coronation Hall, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Defence Department), a military saddle with leather girth, crupper and surcingle attached ; and a khaki jersey : total value, £6 ss. Identifiable.
Napier. —l9th ultimo, from behind a garage in Hastings Street, the property of SYDNEY MOORE, contractor, a ladies’ Massey-Harris bicycle, No. 37575, with a parcel-carrier and a brief-bag attached ; total value, £l2. Identifiable.
Wellington. — JOHN KENNETH MILLER’S kit-bag. &c., stolen: The suspect, Benjamin Henry Charles Bright, alias Charles Benjamin Chapman, has been interviewed and his effects searched by the Napier and Hastings police, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1921, page 755.)

A. Suspicion is attached to George Campbell, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 7 in., flax-mill and sawmill hand, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, dark-brown long hair brushed back, brown eyes, round shoulders, hook nose which has been broken, several upper front teeth missing ; dressed in a pepper-and-salt suit, no hat; slovenly appearance ; talkative ; fond of drink.
