PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland.24th ultimo, for assault causing bodily harm, Man (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 8 in., medium build ; dressed in a dark suit. Whilst in Mountain Road, at about 10 p.m. on above date, Mary Ann Leyden, 18 Gilgid Avenue, Epsom, was assaulted by accused, who struck her on the head with a bottle. No warrant.

Auckland. —loth ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his illegitimate child, of whom Alice May Armstrong is the mother, Francis Gerald Kennedy, age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 3 in., barman, stout build, fair hair and complexion, green eyes, gold-filled teeth in front, clean-shaved ; usually neatly dressed in a black suit ; speaks slowly.

Auckland.26th ultimo, for assault causing bodily harm, Man (name unknown), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 9 in., medium build ; dressed in a dark-brown suit. Whilst in Selwyn Terrace, about 10.45 p.m. on above date, accused assaulted Queenie Winstanley, 8 Dilworth Terrace, Parnell, by striking her on the head with some instrument. No warrant.

Auckland. or about the Bth June last, for theft of a brief-bag (recovered), value. £l, the property of George Gibb, wharf labourer, James Miller (name probably fictitious), age thirty, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and complexion. Accused stole the bag from a shed in Quay Street and sold it to a second-hand dealer for ss. No warrant.

Auckland. covered), value £4, the property of J. Priestley, Wellington, Hugh Graham (name probably fictitious), labourer. Accused stole the coat from the dining-room in the Y.M.C.A. buildings and pledged it at a pawnshop for £l. No warrant.

Morrinsville. — Ist ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), James Gothorp, age eighteen, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, scar on right hand ; quiet disposition ; fond of drink. His term of probation expires on 4th February, 1923. (See Police Gazette, 1922, page 142.)

Morrinsville.2lst July last, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Leonard Coley, age twenty height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer and carter, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, scar on right wrist and knee. Hawera. —29th ultimo, on warrant for theft 7 of a 15 horsepower five-seater Austin motor-car, registered No. H.W. 1859, greyish-green colour, value £l5O, identifiable, Leon Myers, age forty, height 5 ft. 6 in., upholsterer, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, dark-brown eyes, scar on right temple extending across the eye and up forehead ; dressed in a grey or fawn suit. Accused, who had been living with Alice Andrews, disappeared taking her car with him. He may be accompanied by a woman named Hunter, and may endeavour to leave this Dominion. \ / / 2jjj ii

Wellington.2Bth ultimo, on tyjfo warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for one month on each in default of paying £9 12s. (£2 11s. and £7 Is.), arrears due on maintenance orders for the support of his wife and four children, Charles William Price, /Age thirty-one, height 5 ft. 8J in., driver, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion, brown hair and eyes, two growths on one side of nose, one little finger crooked ; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit and hard hat, and wears an uncommon watch-chain of pawashells carved to represent fern-leaves. Arrears computed to 7th ultimo.
