Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). 6th ultimo, from the person of JUNE STEWART, 2 Waverley Street, while at the Winter Show, Central Wharf, a ladies’ gold expanding lattice-pattern wristlet watch, square dial ; value, £3 10s. Identifiable.
Auckland. —On or about the 15th ultimo, from the person of JAMES ROSE, 58 Shortland Street, while on a drinking bout, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold keyless hunting Elgin watch, black stain on outside of back case ; value, £5. Identification doubtful.
Auckland. —Between the 18th and 20th ultimo, from ADELAIDE WYNYARD NEVILLE’S bedroom . at the Alexander Hotel, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold dress-ring, set with three sapphires and four small diamonds in claw setting ; value, £ls. Identifiable. ,7 * ■
Auckland. — -31st January last, from a motor-car in Elliott Street, the property of MRS. T. MEDWIN, Helensville, a ladies’ black-leather handbag, about 9 in. square, with whitesuede lining, nickel fasteners, and leather handles, containing a £5 note, 14s. in silver, and photographs of a house and grounds ; a parcel containing a child’s fugi-silk dress, a pair of children’s socks, a crochet tea-cosy with yellow-satin lining, a white linen embroidery tea-cosy, an oval table-centre, a gold-satin cushion-top with a brown basket and forget-me-nots on it: total value, £l3 6s. 6d. Identifiable except money.
Auckland. — Between the 15th and 19th June last, from POLLY HANNAH JAMES’S bedroom at .12 Symonds Street, a 9 ct. gold short thick-link neck-chain, with a 9 ct. gold oval locket set with a spray of pearls and rubies on one side (one ruby missing) attached ; a 9 ct. gold ring, set with a cameo ; a. gold ring, set with a piece of greenstone, believed to have “ J.L.” on inside; and an engagement-ring, set with two small diamonds and three rubies in deep setting : total value, £ls. Identifiable.
Auckland. — 17th ultimo, the property, of JUDITH MARY ASTON, 16 St. George’s Bay Road, whilst employed in the Bank of New Zealand, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring, set with a diamond in platinum claw setting ; value, £3O. Identification doubtful.
Auckland. —20th December last, from clothing at the Parnell Baths, the property of CLARENCE EDDY PHILLIPS, 211 Symonds Street, a gentlemen’s silver wristlet watch, No. 502423, luminous dial, green hands; .value, £5. Identifiable. ;
Auckland. — 15th April last, from the person of WILLIAM GEORGE CONAGHAN, 21 Clarence Street, Devonport, while in a lavatory at the Caledonia Hotel, a gold - filled keyless hunting-watch, with a reddish stain on dial; and a 9 ct. gold fetter-and-oval watch-chain, with a Jubilee sovereign attached : total value, £ls 10s. Not identifiable.
Auckland.— 26th June last, from a coat on WILLIAM DAVIES’S motor-lorry, a black-leather pocket-wallet, with “ W. Davies ” on book, containing thirteen £1 notes, a motordriver’s license, a certificate of competency, and a war-pension certificate (No. M 3921) ; total value, £l3 10s. Identifiable except money.
Auckland. ultimo, from ELLEN MARIE NEW’S dwelling in Burleigh Street, a dove-grey tree-branch pattern super Wilton carpet, about Oft. by 6ft., fringe at ends, “ Regina ”on back ; value, £ls. Identifiable.
One hung a, — COCHRAN’S dwelling broken into: The suspect, George Robert Pevreal, lias been interviewed by the Auckland police, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1922, page 373.)
Gisborne. — Between the 28th and 29th ultimo, the shop of JOSEPH NEWTON, butcher, junction of Lytton and Gladstone Roads, was broken into, and twelve hams: and three sides of bacon stolen therefrom ; total value, £l7 10s. Not identifiable.
Lower Hutt. —Bth April last, from Main Street, the property of JOHN MINCHIN, Belmont, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled bicycle, black handles with black celluloid grips, Eadie Coaster hub, back-pedalling brake ; value, £lO. Identifiable.
Wellington.— ultimo, from Dixon Street, the property of JAMES BONNER, 53 Norway Street, a gentlemen’s B.S.A. bicycle, No. 304955 and T.P. on driving-wheel, reversible racing-handles with one black grip, Reynolds chain, Oceanic tires, driving-wheel and front forks newly painted black, dent in top bar ; value, £l2. Identifiable.
Wellington.— l3th ultimo, from - the Town Hall, the property of ANNIE MAUDE SIMM, 196 Willis Street, a ladies’ black-satin overcoat with blue-satin lining, gold lines on back resembling roses, “ Bourne and Hollingworth, London,” on tag ; value, £2O. Identifiable.
Wellington. —l4th ultimo, from the Town Hall, the property of EVELINE CAMPBELL, Ghuznee Street, a leather suit-case, with a silver plate on one side with “ E.F.C.” on it, containing a pair of ladies’ red-satin shoes, size 5 ; and a pair of ladies’ grey-suede gloves, size 6 : total value, £7 Bs. 6d. Identifiable. *
Wellington.—l3th ultimo, from the Town Hall, the property of LOUISA MARGARET MIDLANE, 150 Oriental Parade, a black-silk mirrow-velvet cape with black-silk lining, silk fringe at each side in front, and a long black cord attached ; value, £lO. Identifiable.
Wellington. Between the 25th and 31st ultimo, from GEORGE WILTON AND CO.’S warehouse, 156 - Willis Street, a No. 441 T Spencer microscope, attachable mechanical stage, No. 485, stand of black iron with horse-shoe base, black body and draw-tube, coarse and fine adjustments, triple nose-piece, objectives 4 M.M. (slightly defective), 16 M.M., and 8 M.M. oil-immersion eye-piece 6X, adjustable sub-stage; value, £47. Identifiable.
Wellington.—Between the 15th and 17th ultimo, from a motor-car on the roadside between Petone and Ngahauranga, the property of THOMAS SHERLAW, 219 Lambton Quay, a 6-volt Wilfred-brand battery, about 14 in. by 8 in. by 9 in. ; a Klaxon horn ; a silver-plated radiator-cap with a kangaroo mascot on it ; a lever-pump ; a metal pump with a folding lever-arm ; and a Boyproof watch : total value, £7 12s. 6d. Identifiable.
Christchurch. —Bth ultimo, from Tuam Street, the property of JOHN FORSYTH, 506 Tuam Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled bicycle, No. 101, upturned handles, Michelin and Oceanic tires, broken racing-saddle ; value, £5. Identifiable.
Christchurch. —On the 25th ultimo, MARY WILSON’S dwelling at 419 Montreal Street was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A ladies’ 18 ct. gold large ring, set with a large pale amethyst in daw setting ; and 19s. : total value, £3 19s. AtZ i Christchurch. —Between /the/ 27th and 28th May last JAMES HENRY REYNOLDS’S chemist’s shop in Papanui Road was broken into, and the following cameras stolen therefrom : An Autographic Kodak Junior camera, No. 213212 ; and a vest-pocket Kodak camera, No. 862916 : total value, £7 7s. Identifiable.
Waimate. —On the 16th ultimo ARCHIBALD WALLACE KENNARD’S dwelling in Bank Street was broken into, and the following money stolen therefrom: £l2 in silver, a sovereign, a half-sovereign, a £1 note on the Commercial Bank of Australia, and a Yale key, with “ Beddow and Sturmey Ltd., Crown Works, Willenhall, No. 69068,” on it; total value, £l4 10s. Key only identifiable.
Waimate. —22nd ultimo, from outside the Empire Hotel, the property of CHARLES SULLIVAN, Noaks Hill, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled Fritz bicycle, No. 152, wide handles, rear wheel in front with sprocket off, spoke , missing from front one ; value, £7. Identifiable. JtcZbxrV ,
Dunedin.- —13th June last, from LILLY BALLANTYNE’S bedroom at the Vulcan Hotel, St. Bathans, a gentlemen’s silver open-face watch ; a ladies’ silver open-face Geneva watch ; and a gold watch-chain, similar to illustration No. 32 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 3, with a gold medal with “ Sam Ballantyne ” on it attached : total value, £ls. Identifiable.
Outram. — the 29th June last and the 7th ultimo, from HELEN LAURA PALMER’S dwelling at Henley, a gold brooch, about, 1| in. by 1 in., cross design with a raised oval in centre, set with a diamond in centre and a ruby and two diamonds in end of each cross, glass in back ; value, £3O. Identifiable.
