+ Newton. —l4th November last. Inquiries are to be made for A. Edie, age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 5 in., medium build, fair hair, clean-shaved. If located, the Inspector of Police, Auckland, is to be notified of his whereabouts.

Auckland. —20th April last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for forty-eight hours in default of paying 18s. costs for drunkenness,- Alfred Henderson, alias Brewer, alias Anderson, alias J. B. Tonks, age fifty-two, height 5 ft. s Jin., cook and carter, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, brown eyes, thick lips. (Sec Police Gazette, 1920, page 90.)

Auckland. —24th March last, for forgery, Man (name unknown), age about twenty-three, height 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, fair hair and complexion ; pleasant manner ; respectable appearance. Accused sent a telegram from Symonds Street Post-office to -- Murrell, Kilbirnie, Wellington, purporting to be from his (Murrell’s) son, David, asking for £ls. He obtained the money next day by forging the signature “D. J. Murrell ”to a postal receipt. No warrant.

Auckland. 23rd February last, for indecent assault on Edna Mildred McKenzie and Raymond McKenzie, schoolchildren, Man (name unknown), age about thirty-five, height 6 ft., thin build, fair complexion, brown hair ; dressed in a brown suit, black-fur hat, tan boots, and wears pince-nez. Accused took the children into Myers’s Park, where he committed the offence. No warrant.

Auckland. —27th May last, on warrant for false pretences, John H. Hardy, age twenty height 5 ft. 6 in., painter and canvasser, native of Australia, strong build, dark complexion, dark long hair, tattooed on right forearm ; well dressed in a blue-serge or grey check suit. Accused, who was employed by McNair and Go., land agents, obtained £SO from Catherine Sutcliffe, 25 Kingsland Avenue, by falsely representing that he had authority to sell a house at 63 Crummer Road, Grey Lynn. Accused obtained a hat and £2 15s. cash from William Henry Skinner, draper, 271 Main Street, by means of a valueless cheque for £5 on the Bank of New Zealand, Palmerston North.

Blenheim. —4th February last, on two warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for three months in default of paying £8 14s. 9d. balance of fine and costs on two charges of theft, Douglas Westrupp, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 8 in., seaman and labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair brushed back, hazel eyes; shamrock, thistle, butterfly, ship, and woman’s head on left forearm; bird, clasped hands, “ 46216 ” and “ N.Z.” on right arm ; dressed in a brown-tweed suit and tan boots (no hat).
