Hamilton.— WATTS AND BRAYSHAW’S premises broken into : It has now been ascertained that a •22-calibre Iver Johnson revolver, No. 138451, value £5, was also stolen. (See Police Gazette, 1922, page 362.)

Rotorua. -On the Bth ultimo JACOB BARNETT KRAVIS’S dwelling at Ngongotaha Valley was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A gold-mounted greenstone watch-chain, with gold cross attached ; a silver keyless hunting Waltham watch ; a black-leather pocketwallet, containing bills, &c., bearing complainant’s name ; a 12-gauge single-barrelled 1900 model breech-loading shotgun, No. F 27, made by H. and R. Arms Company, U.S.A. ; and a box containing twenty-five cartridges : total value, £l2 4s. 6d. Identifiable except cartridges.

Putaruru.— EßNEST GEORGE STAINTON’S watch stolen : The pawn-ticket for the watch was sold in Rotorua, about) the 20th April last, by a Man who gave the name Scott, age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, dark complexion, clean-shaved ; dressed in a gabardine suit and fawn overcoat, and usually without a hat; speaks slowly ; fond of drink. Identifiable.

Pahiatua. Between the 4th and 9th instant, from FLORENCE ABA SMITH’S dwelling at Mangamaire, a gold engagement-ring, set with five diamonds in a row, one diamond has been reset and is lower than the others (similar to illustration No. 75 in Police Gazette,! 91 l-4>age 6); value, £ls. Suspicion is attached to Maurice Cleary, age about forty, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, good build, dark complexion and hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved ; dressed in a blue-serge suit, light-felt hat, and tan shoes ; American accent.

Wellington. —On or about the 12th ultimo, from a telephone- near the Public Trust Office, the property of JAMES PROCKTER, 114 Ghuznee Street, a gentlemen’s fawn light-moleskin double-breasted overcoat with brown lining, belt attached, vent at back ; value, £lO 10s. Identifiable.
