Devonport. —l3th ultimo, from a winch in King Edward Parade, the property of FRITZ CROMBIE STURMFELLS, 53 Calliope Road, a brown Norfolk coat with black lining, a silver open -face non-magnetic watch with tip broken off minute-hand and with a leather watch-guard attached, and a brown-leather Gladstone bag about 14in. long; total value. £2 Identifiable,

• Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —KATE CARRINGTON’S overcoat stolen : The suspect, W. Mabbs, has been interviewed by the Kingsland police, but no evidence resulted. His correct name is William Mabbs. (See Police Gazette, 1922, page 191.)

Auckland.— March last, from a motor-car outside Cargen Private Hotel, the property of ALBERT THOMAS PROSSER, 17 Queen’s Parade, Devonport, a brown-leather suit-case with red lining, containing two striped shirts, a suit of blue-striped pyjamas, three collars (size 14J), two pairs of black-silk socks, a shaving-outfit, a hair-brush' and comb, and a nail-brush; total value, £8 12s. Identification doubtful.

Auckland. Between the 3rd and 6th March last, from HENRY DONALD COUTTS’S bedroom at the Waverley Hotel, a ■brown-leather Gladstone bag, containing a pair of light-grey trousers, size 7 ; a tennis-shirt without collar, size 5 ; a singlet; four white polo-collars ; and a leather folding case with a clip fastener, containing a Bengal razor, a strop, and a hair-brush and comb : total value, £6 13s. 6d. Auckland. —On or about the 7th March last the shop of PHILLIP RODLEY, watchmaker, Queen Street, Onehunga, was broken into, and a gentlemen’s rolled-gold hunting-watch, value £2 os., identifiable, stolen therefrom. Suspicion is attached to Henry Hampton, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer and seamen, native of Tasmania, strong build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, crown over lion in wreath and “ Reinforcement ” on right forearm, flag on left forearm. Auckland. —16th December last, from a motor-car, the property of ROSE LLOYDD, Patetonga, Hauraki Plains, a brown-leather suit-case, containing a pair of ladies’ black shoes with single-strap fastener, a green-and-white gingham dress, a blue-and-white-gingham dress, a fawn-serge skirt with two outside pockets, a pair of chocolate-coloured stockings, a Turkish towel, eight pieces of white flannel, several handkerchiefs and articles of ladies’ underclothing, also a cream-straw large hat with muslin lining; total value, £l4 18s. 6d. Identifiable.

Auckland. 26th January last, from the person .of ARTHUR COOMBS, mill hand, Kerepehi, while under the influence of liquor, at Mangere, an imitation gold hunting keyless watch, “ Superior timekeeper, specially examined,” on inside of - front case, “Guaranteed five years. Best. Material,” on inside of back case ; value, £1 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the Ist and 3rd ultimo, the premises of the DEVONPORT MUTUAL' STORES COMPANY (LIMITED) in Marine Square were broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A ladies’ black-leather companion, 20 in. by 10 in. by 5 in. ; a black-leather attachecase, 18 in. by 12 in. by 4 in. ; two black oxidized open-face centre stop-watches ; eighteen rolled-gold, silver, and black oxidized Swiss watches ; a quantity of Havelock and Yankee Doodle tobacco and yellow and green Three Castles cigarettes ; ss. worth of l-|-d. and 2d. stamps ; and £1 ss. : total value, £4O. Identification doubtful.

Auckland. 2oth ultimo, from ROSE ANNE DAVEY’S dwelling at 27 Nelson Street, a £lO note on the Union Bank of Australasia, No. 3/n3048, and two £1 notes ; total value,* £l2. Suspicion is attached to Frank Beasley, age about thirty-seven, height about 5 ft. 7 in., stout build, dark tanned complexion, brown hair brushed back, grey eyes, scar on chin, large nose, prominent forehead ; dressed in a dark suit, blue-grey-felt hat, and tan boots.

Ellerslie. 6th ultimo, from One Tree Hill, the property of HENRY EVA, horse-trainer, Wairakei Street, a six-year-old bay thoroughbred gelding, 16 hands, long mane and long square-cut tail; alO lb. racing-saddle ; and a single-rein bridle : total value, £SO. Identifiable.

Frankton Junction. —22nd March last, from a seat at the railway-station, the property of C. M. ROSS, Palmerston North, a brown-leather brief-bag ; a pair of white-backed military hair-brushes, one with a shield with “ C.M.R.” on it; a suit of Roslyn pyjamas ; three linen collars ; and a bottle of cream : total value, about £3. Identifiable.

Tauranga. —lsth March last, the property of MAURICE MUNRO, bicycle-dealer, Wharf Road, a gentlemen’s blackenamelled 24 in. B.S.A. bicycle, upturned rusty handles, chain-wheel painted with aluminium, New Departure hub on back wheel, Barnett-Glass tires, mud-guards attached ; value, £6. Identifiable. Complainant hired the bicycle to an unknown man, who failed to return it. Hamilton. —Bth ultimo, from outside the King’s Theatre, the property of HECTOR* WILLIAM COOMBES, clerk, Norton Road, Frankton Junction, a gentlemen’s blackenamelled bicycle, reversible handles, rubber pedals, nickel rims, dent near pedal-crank ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Taumarunui.— the 14th and 19th ultimo WILLIAM SARAH’S dwelling was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A blue-serge suit with “Mcßride, tailor, Victoria Street, Auckland,” on tab of coat a pair of grey military blankets ; a light-coloured patch mat; a pair of black-cashmere socks ; a pair of Roslyn underpants ; and £1 15s. : total value, £l4 15s. Identifiable except money.

Raurimu. —On or about the 16th ultimo, from a buggyshed, the property of JAMES STEEN HUNTER, farmer, Kaitieke, a double set of silver-mounted buggy-harness, saddle straps have been repaired with wire, loops in traces ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Raetiiii. — the 21st ultimo ROBERT N. JOHNSTON’S hut in Valley Road was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A dark-grey worsted suit, a white vest, a grey military shirt, two white cotton shirts, six plugs of dark Havelock tobacco, and about 10s. ; total value, about £lO Us. 6d. Identifiable except money: Suspicion is attached to Three Men (names unknown). TISDALE’S shop at 100 Lambton Quay was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : Four 22-calibre Young American revolvers with nickel finish, a -calibre Young American revolver with bluish finish, three 32-calibre Young American revolvers one with bluish finish, all with 2 in. barrel ; a 32-calibre H.R. revolver, 3 J in. barrel; two H. and R. 38-calibre octagon-shaped revolvers, 41 in. barrel, nickel finish ; and a 22-calibre double-action Premier revolver, selfejecting, target grip, 6 in. barrel, nickel finish : total value,' £ls 15s. Hooper on inside, containing 55., two Temperance and General Insurance Company’s books, a pair of grey gloves, and two railway tickets, Wellington to Khandallah; total value, £2 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Martha Tainui, alias McDonald, alias Maria Loper, age forty-seven, height 5 ft. 3 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, good build, copper complexion, black hair, dark eyes, scar on left thumb ; a halfcaste Maori.
