Auckland. —14th ultimo, for escaping from Auckland Mental Hospital, John Holston, age thirty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., musician, native of America, medium build, sallow complexion, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes, scar on forehead, scars on left arm ; dressed in a moleskin suit. (See Police Gazette, 1914, pages 331 qh.d 466, and Photographs, page 26.) aSTsus'jitd /l/7 g/3-7^ Auckland. 29th December last, for theft of two rugs (recovered), value £4, : the property of Len Albert, farmer, Pukekohe, George Cullen (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-six, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, Maori, strong build, copper complexion, black hair, brown eyes,' clean-shaved ; well dressed in a chocolate-coloured suit and brown cap ; erect gait. The rugs were stolen from the Maori Hostelry, Gittos Street, and sold at the Waitemata Loan Company’s pawnshop for 12s. 6d. No warrant. -
Rotorua. —Between the 4th February last and the 6th ultimo, on warrant for theft of £7O 7s. 6d., the property of Charles Edward Kusabs, motor-proprietor, Edward Llewellyn Phillips, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 6 in., clerk, native of Wales, slight build, fresh complexion, grey hair and eyes ; smart appearance ; fond of drink. Accused was employed bv complainant and collected the above amount for fare's and iaiMtoac.ojyt fo» it. 2 f / 2".
W Air aw A. 2nd ultimo, for breaking and entering the dwelling of Lidia Williams, Pukehou, with intent to commit a crime, Man (name unknown), age about thirty-seven, height about 5 ft. 5 in., slight build, clean-shaved ; dressed in a dark suit and cap. No warrant.
Wanganui. 24th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Elizabeth Coombes, Arthur Henry Coombes, age forty-six, height 6 ft., labourer and stoker, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark hair turning grey, grey eyes, dark moustache, stooped shoulders ; usually dressed in a dark suit and grey-felt hat; slight impediment in speech. Wanganui. —l7th August, 1920, on]' warrant of commitment to military custody for seven days in default of paying £1 fine and costs for failing to render personal service, Frederick George Harvey, age about twenty-three, height 5 ft. lb in., labourer, native of New Zealand, thin build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, large nose and ears, clean-shaved ; usually dressed in a dark-tweed suit and brown-felt hat ; suffers from asthma. Feilding. —7th February last, on warrant for theft of a bicycle (recovered), value £B, the property of Harold Batten, -trainer, Denbeigh Street, Charles Gill, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 10 in., sawmill hand, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark hair and complexion. The bicycle was stolen from outside Everybody’s Picture-theatre, and it was subsequently found hidden ngarjaccusecße father’s residence at Eketahuna. "'2-^'
Wellington. 27th March last, .on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Florence Minnie Cross, Belmont Road, Lower Hutt, is the mother, Arthur Percival Leonard Thompson, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., tunneller and labourer, native of Australia, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes, left ring-finger deformed ; dressed in a blue suit and green-felt hat. Christchurch. —17th October last, that she may be compelled to maintain her three children, inmates of Christchurch Receiving Home, Flora Ellen Waite, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. 6 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes ; suffers from goitre ; wears spectacles.
