( Auckland. —16th December last, from a bedroom at the Salvation Army Metropole in Wellesley Street, the nroperty of ALFRED PERCY WESTBURY, Waikokowai, Pukemiro, a gentlemen’s dark-brown double-breasted heavy motor -overcoat, with flannel lining and belt across back; value, £l4. Identifiable. •

Auckland. 17th September last, from the Glenalvon Boardinghouse, the property of HELEN DAVIES, a 15 ct. gold curb bangle, with small chain attached; value, £7. Identifiable.

Auckland.— Between the Ist October and the 14th January last, a but at Narrow Neck Reserve, the property of HA.RIET STONE, 31 Dryden Street, was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : Two silver butter-knives ; six white-handled table-knives; six dessert-forks ; six fancy teaspoons ; a silver jam-spoon ; a cake-fork and butter-knife with ivory handles; a medicine-chest, about 2 ft. high and about 15 in. wide, with a small mirror in centre ; a wooden tea-tray with cane edges; a linen embroidered double bedspread ; a dozen white linen afternoon-tea cloths, some embroidered and some hem-stitched ; a white linen embroidered sideboard-runner; two white table-centres; four double sheets ; two damask tablecloths ; and six pillow-cases : total value, £34 2s. Identification doubtful.

Auckland. —On or about March last, from IVAN AUTONOVICE’S hut at Kawau Island, a double-barrelled 12-bore shot-gun, No. 2228, made by Leige Arms Company; value, £3. Identifiable.

Auckland.— l2th January last, from the person of HARRY ' FORRESTER, McNEILL, auctioneer, 235 The Terrace Wellington, a £SO note, No. 005801, on the Bank of New Zealand. Identifiable.

Onehunga. SON bedroom at 9 Boarding Street, Auckland, a gold ring, set with a diamond in small-claw setting ; value, £lO 10s! Identifiable.

Otahuhu.— 4th January last, from JAMES McNALLY’S dwelling in Clevedon Road, a 9 ct. gold-mounted oval brooch, with a pink surface with a white raised head on it; a cheque, No. H 977921, for £6, on the Bank of New Zealand, drawn by Hawkins and Johansen in favour of James McNally total value, £ll. Identifiable.

Huntly.— l2th November last, the property of JOSEPH McIVER, engine-driver, a tobacco-tin, containing a £5 note ; four £1 notes ; a 15 ct. gold curb double watch-chain, with a gold-mounted greenstone hockey-stick pendant which has been repaired in centre attached ; and an 18 ct. gold ring, set with a diamond in claw setting, similar to illustration No. 95 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 6 : total value, £3O. Identifiable except money. Complainant lost the property while working a steam-navvy in a cutting at Pukemiro.

Te Awamutu. —Between the 16th and 23rd January last, from WILLIAM ROBERT SURGENOR’S bedroom at Bathurst’s boardinghouse, a New Zealand gold-nugget double watch-chain, nuggets connected by three oval links, with a 24 ct. gold attachment in centre consisting of three nuggets, with a gold medal attached with crossed rifles and “ N.Z.” on one side, and j“ W. R. Surgenor, Presented by Rahotu residents, Great War, 1914-18,” on the other side ; value, £ls. * identifiable.

Te Araroa.— HENßY KINNIARD HOVELL’S office broken into : The suspect, William Lloyd Stephens, has been interviewed by the Te Araroa police, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1918, page 358.)

Manunui. —Between the 31st January last and the 2nd ultimo JOHN BUCKMAN’S hut at Pungapunga was broken into, and a black-leather wallet with a metal clasp fastener, containing a £lO note and several other notes, stolen therefrom. Suspicion is attached to Walter Te Paa, age twentythree, labourer, Maori, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes ; usually dressed in a grey suit, Panama hat, and tan boots with high heels. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

New Plymouth. the 4th and 6th ultimo, -from ALFRED SPIERPOINT HASSELL’S shop in Devon Street, four light oilskin overcoats, three-quarter length lining; and a gold-mounted self-filling Onoto fountain pen, with A.S.H. over N.P. on gold band : total value, £l2 10s. Identifiable.

Waipawa.— loth ultimo, from 0. W. ALDER’S motor-car, a gentlemens dark motor-overcoat with leather lining, and a rug, green on one side and plain on the other side ; total value, £B. Identifiable.

Waipawa. —loth ultimo, from a motor-car near Wirth’s circus, the property of E. G. SIMMONS, farmer, Tikokino, a ladies’ greenish overcoat with black and grey lines, loose belt across front, loose back; a rug, dull grey on one side and grey-and-white check on the other ; and a dark-blue rug with a red-and-white small check in it: total value, £7 ss. Identifiable.

Waipawa.— loth ultimo, from a motor-car on the roadside near Wirth’s circus, the property of ARTHUR A. PIPER, farmer, Ruataniwha, a heavy rug, brown on one side and dark-brown with large blue check on the other side, Mosgiel tag on one corner, and branded “E. A. Piper ; a gentlemen’s Burberry overcoat, with burn-holes in front; and a dark-brown Burberry boy’s overcoat: total value, £ls. Identifiable.

Wellington. ROBERT JONES’S watch, &c., stolen: The suspect, Alexander Wallace Copley, has been interviewed by the Thames police, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1920, page 483.) :

Christchurch. On the 30th December last WESLEY HELLIWELL’S dwelling at 139 Dean’s Avenue, Lower Piccarton, was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A ladies’ gold semi-hunting watch, with a long gold chain attached ; a ladies’ gold ring, set with three sapphires ; a gold double-bar brooch, set with a ruby surrounded with diamonds ; a single-bar brooch with two swallows and flowers on bar, set with pearls, with a gold safety chain, with a small square pendant set with sapphires and pearls attached ; a heart pendant, set with pearls, containing photographs ; a gold single-bar greenstone brooch ; and a gold narrow bangle : total value, £45. Identifiable.

Fendalton. —23rd November last, from JAMONEAUX MINTY’S dwelling at 17 Ripton Street, a silver card-case, with “ E.M.” on one side, silver chain attached ; value, £5. Identifiable.

St. Albans.29th January last, from a shed at 80 Cranford Street, the property of JAMES WINSLOW BURROWS, 21 Goldsmith Street, a gentlemen’s blue-enamelled Speedy racing-bicycle, No. 2028, black diamond outrigger handles, steel pedals, celluloid mud-guards, Railroad tires ; value, £24. Identifiable.

Sydenham. Hotel, the property of CHARLES HALE, 225 Milton Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, No. 131, upturned handles, rat-trap pedals, steel mud-guards, front-rim brake, Dunlop tires ; value, £B. Identifiable.

Ashburton. —On or about the 21st ultimo, from Burnett Street, the property of ROBERT TOTTY, chemist, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled James bicycle, high frame, square handles, rat-trap pedals, celluloid mud-guards, Brooks saddle, No. 4187 ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Dunedin. —16th January last, from a cloak-room at the telegraph - office, the property of JAMES ALEXANDER BROWN, 17 Morrison Street, a gentlemen’s silver open-face Welden watch, with “ Jas. Dunedin. Between the 30th September and 30th December last, while in transit between Dunedin and New Plymouth, the property of ARTHUR M. MOWLEM, Stipendiary Magistrate, a ladies’ gold watch, with a long gold chain attached ; a gold ring, set with three sapphires and two diamonds; a gold ring, set with two rows of pearls ; a gold ring, set with five diamonds ; a gold neck-chain, with a heart pendant, set with turquoises with a small true-lover’s knot on top set with turquoises ; a neck-chain, with pendant set with pearls attached; a gold wedding-ring; a gold tie-pin, set with three opals (centre one larger than the others); a gold tie-pin with a gold rose in centre and gold leaves at each side ; a gold tie-pin, consisting of crossed pick and spade, bound with a gold nugget cable : total value, £SO. Dunedin. —Between the 25th and 27th ultimo the premises of A. AND T. INGLIS, drapers, George Street, were broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom: Three leather suit-cases, two with steel around inside edges ; a darkgrey suit, size 4, with “ Sincerity Clothing Coy.” on inside of coat-collar; two vicuna suits with white stripe, size 4 ; a brown-tweed suit, size 4; and two dark-grey-tweed overcoats : total value, £63 19s. Identification doubtful.

Dunedin. JAMES DIXON McLACHLAN’S watch stolen : The number of the watch is “ 37285.” (See Police Gazette, 1922, page 140.)

Brushes only identifiable.

Tapanui. —On or about the 14th January last PHILLIP BO Y UEN’S shop was broken into, and forty packets of yellow Three Castles cigarettes, value £1 10s., stolen therefrom. Suspicion is attached to Arthur Dominic Plunket, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, good build, fair complexion, brown hair and eyes, scar on left eyebrow, small red mark on right side of nose, left arm amputated at elbow, large mouth ; dressed in khaki trousers, blue coat, and dark-grey slouch hat; fond of drink.
