Devonport. 2nd instant, from a bathing-shed, the property of JULIE MASTERS, Cambridge Road, Hamilton, a ladies’ silver wristlet watch with leather wristlet, figures “ 12 ” red, small piece out of dial between “ 1 ” and “ 2 ” ; a ladies’ white handkerchief with “ K.8.J.” on it; and 6d. : total value, £3 11s. 3d. Auckland. —31st October last, from a dressing-room in the Brunswick Buildings, the property of EVA SANDERS, tea-room proprietress, a henna-coloured box-pleated costume, lined with white silk, pocket inside breast; a brownvoile jumper with blue (lowers on it; a pair of ladies’ black brogue shoes, size 6 ; a pair of ladies’, black glace-kid shoes .without toe-caps, size 5 ; and two pairs of black-silk stockings : total value, £ls 15s. Auckland. —On the 25th ultimo the dwelling of ISABELLA CUMMINS, 264 Mount Eden Road, was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom: A ladies’ 9 ct. gold hunting Geneva watch, engraved on outside, flower on back case, shield on front, glass and rim missing, gold-coloured dial, has fittings for conversion into wristlet watch ; a leather strap; a 9 ct. gold cable bangle, chased on one side of alternate links ; and about ss. : total value, £l3 ss. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. —10th ultimo, from Victoria Street, the property of ERNEST CARNABY, painter, 165 Great South' Road, Reinuera, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel B.S.A. racing-bicycle, 20 in. frame, nickelled wide upturned handles without grips, back-pedalling brake, Dunlop tire on back wheel, red tire on front wheel; -value, £5. Identifiable.

Bth instant, from the dwelling of JAMES HENRY BRADNEY, 8 Sherwood Road, a dress coat and vest; a black-cloth frock coat; a black sac suit, “ Tutts ” on tab ; a navy-blue suit; a grey raincoat; a ladies’ blanket coat with violet stripes on cuffs, fur collar ; a small white comb ; a clothes-brush; a hat-brush; a string of yellow beads, large centre bead broken; a string of peas-and-beans beads on a black-silk cord, knot between each bead ; a navy-blue-plush ring-case ; a gold ring, set with a large pearl in claw setting ; a navy-blue-plush jewel-case, lined with white sateen : a gold brooch, set with pearls and turquoise ; a white-: metal jewel-case ; a gold pendant, set with pearls, small keeper-chain attached; a gold ring, set with two rubies and two diamonds in claw setting ; a gold bangle, set with nine garnets ; a ladies’ spray brooch, set with pearls, and turquoise in centre (one pearl missing); a bronze ornament (Chinese god); and a silver-mounted umbrella, with “ J.C.” on it.: total value, £ll6 10s. Papakura.- -25th December last, from a room in the Papakura Hotel, the property of MARY ANN RYAN, an 18 ct. gold engagement-ring, set with fourteen diamonds in cluster in centre and one on each side ; and a gold open-face wristlet watch with expanding long links : value, £3B. Identifiable.

Kawhia. Between the 4th and 6th instant the shop of MARTIN OLDBURY, tailor and mercer, was broken into, and £5, an American dollar, and three tins of yellow Three Castles cigarettes stolen therefrom. Suspicion is •attached to Here Waamu, age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, Maori, stout build, dark eyes and complexion, black hair ; Hori Heu, age about eighteen, height about 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, Maori, thin build, dark sallow complexion, dark eyes ; and Mack, age about twenty, height about 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, Maori, medium build, dark sallow complexion, dark eyes. They have been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

New Plymouth. —Between the sth ultimo and the 4th instant, from a dwelling, the property of ALICE WILKS, Powderham Street, two leather handbags, flowers on front; and als ct. gold ring, set with a large black opal. Suspicion is attached to R. Hickson (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-eight, .height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, slight build, fresh complexion, brown hair, clean-shaved; dressed in a blueserge suit. The description is that of the man who sold one of the bags to a-'secfind-hand/lealer.

Wanganui. —3oth November last, from a railway-carriage on the. New Plymouth-Wellington express at Wanganui, the property of ELVA PATRICIA WALLACE, a greencanvas suit-case, square patch on bottom, “Von Stumer written on case ; a fawn coat; a dress trimmed with brown braid; a black-silk scarf with purple and white stripes ; a string of beads ; a brush and comb ; and a sleeping-suit: total value, £ls. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to T. R. Brunton (name probably fictitious); age about thirtyfive, height about 5 ft. 8 in., fair complexion, round face ; clean-shaved; dressed in a grey dirty suit and cap. The description is that of the man who sold some of the articles at a second-hand shop.

Palmerston North.— 4th instant, from a bedroom in the Cafe de Paris Hotel, the property of JAMES JOSEPH COFFEY, a Gladstone bag (recovered); a light-fawn-gabar-dine overcoat, “ Made expressly for Collinson and Cunningham ” on tag ; a pair of black boots, size 8 ; and a pair of ebony military hair-brushes in leather case, silver shield on back of each with “ J.J.C.” on it: total value, £l3. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to J. Clark (name probably fictitious), age about forty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, dark hair, dark blotchy complexion ; dressed in a dark or blue suit and black-felt hat. He is supposed to be identical with Stephen Daniel Hannon, alias Dennis Hannon, referred to in Police Gazette, 1921, page 607. The bag was recovered in Bone’s second-hand shop.

Wellington. —23rd December last, from a shop at 69 Willis Street, the property of JOSEPH LAND, a tan smoothhide 22 in. blouse-case, with “ Atlas ” on it, and a tan smoothhide 22 in. suit-case ; total value, £ll. Identifiable.

Wellington. —26th ultimo, from the Post Office Hotel, the property of GEORGE ERNEST BEVERIDGE, barman, a gentlemen’s Astrakan overcoat with velvet collar, “ Churchill, Vivian Street,” on tag ; value, £lO. Identifiable.
