Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —27th October last, that he may be located and the Defence Department, Auckland, notified of his whereabouts, Christopher Henry Watson, age sixteen, height 5 ft. 2 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, small scar over right eye ; dressed in a blue-serge knickerbocker suit and light-felt hat.
Auckland. —-31st ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Mary Strom, 34 Prospect Terrace, Ponsonby, Edward Strom, age about forty-three, height sft. -Sin., seaman, native of Norway, strong build, fresh complexion, fair hair going bald, small fair moustache, blue eyes, anchor on left arm, left forefinger missing ; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit and soft-felt hat. Auckland. — Mendel Jackson, false pretences : It has been ascertained by the Auckland police that accused came from England under the name Harry Davis or Davies, but his correct name is Jackson. An alternative charge of theft has been preferred against him for which a warrant has been obtained. His photograph is filed in the Inspector’s Office, Auckland. (See Police Gazette, 1922, page 2.)

Auckland. — 9th ultimo', on warrant for forgery and uttering, John Liston Hanton, alias Alfred Hinton, age about thirtyseven, height about 6 ft., labourer, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes, slightly stooped ; dressed in a brown shabby suit, tan boots, and grey-felt hat ; fond of drink. Accused, who worked for William Thomas Westlake, farmer, Ruawai, stole three blank cheques from his employer, to one of which he forged the signature “ W. T. Paeroa. —26th ultimo, on warrant for leaving New Zealand without the permission in writing of a Magistrate while £7 12s. 6d. under a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child (Elsie Bidois, mother) was in arrear, Harvey Campbell, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 10 in., marine engineer, native of New Zealand, medium build, copper complexion, black hair, brown eyes ; dressed in a dark-brown suit and brown-felt hat; a three-quarter-caste Maori; speaks good English.
Hawera. —Ist ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), John Austin, alias McMurdo, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 3Jin., labourer and miner, native of Scotland, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes, wart on right forefinger, scar on back and above left heel. ■ (Sye Police Gazette, 1921, page 484.)

Wellington. —-25th ultimo, that he may be interviewed regarding theft of a piano from his brother’s house in Stanley Street, Frederick William Dewhurst, age twenty-three, height about 5 ft. 10 in., clerk, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion, fair hair brushed back, one arm has been broken; mentally weak. Greymoutit. —loth October last, that he may be compelled to maintain his children, John Payne, alias Page, alias Harper, age thirty height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer and bookkeeper, native of England, medium build, pale complexion, brown hair turning grey, small blue eyes, scars on right side of neck and on left forefinger, Buffalo Bill on left forearm. Rangiora. — l4th December last, on warrant for theft of two horses (recovered), value £7l, the property of George Withers, contractor, Oust, B. Cowan (name probably fictitious), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., good build, tanned complexion, dark moustache ; dressed in a grey suit and brown-felt hat. Christchurch. Between the Ist July and the 26th August last, on provisional warrant for stealing at Cronulla, Sydney, New South Wales, two suits and other articles (recovered), value £SO, the property of Mr. Justice Rich, John Griffiths, alias Aitken, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. . 7 in., labourer and bricklayer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair hair and complexion, hazel eyes (one eye crossed slightly), scar on left temple, mole on left cheek, two pugilists on chest. Accused’s room was searched by the Sydney police and the stolen property recovered. He is supposed to have come to this Dominion. Christchurch. —On or about the 11th December last, for theft of a bay draught gelding (recovered), value £2O, the property of John Brightling, carrier, 296 Cashel Street, A. Guthrie (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., fresh complexion, fair hair, clean-shaved ; dressed in a grey suit and cap ; good appearance.
