Regulation No. 187 : Correspondence.

The last paragraph of memorandum of 22nd Juno, 1920, published in Police Gazette, 1920, page 391, authorizing the use of the back of a report for continuing correspondence, is hereby cancelled, and in future the requirements of Regulation No. 187 must be strictly observed. , The attention of members of the Force is directed to the following provisions of section 11, subsection (1), of the above Act:—

“11. (1.) Every person whose rate of salary or wages is reduced by this Act and who is a contributor to the Public Service Superannuation Fund, or the Teachers’ Superannuation Fund, or the Government Railways Superannuation Fund, may, by notice in writing to the Secretary of the Board charged with the administration of that superannuation fund, given on or before the thirtieth day of June, nineteen hundred and twenty-two, elect to continue to contribute to the fund as if his salary or wages had not been so reduced, and every person so electing and contributing shall be entitled on retirement to a retiring-allowance (if any) of the same amount as that to which he would have been entitled if his salary or wages had not been reduced by this Act.” Members of the Force who desire to continue to pay contributions on the higher salary should notify the officer in

charge of the district as early as possible so as to enable the correct deduction to be made in the pay-sheets for this month.

Such notices should then be forwarded to this office by the officer in charge of the district for transmission to the Secretary of the Public Service Superannuation Board. A. H. Wright, Commissioner of Police. Wellington, 10th February, 1922.
