Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). 2lst ultimo, from Little Queen Street, the property of LAWERANCE SAINSBORY, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled Raleigh bicycle, City Council No. 12509, straight handles, back-pedalling brake, Hercules saddle, one spoke missing from front wheel, Special Railroad tire on front wheel, Skeates and White tire on back wheel ; value, £6 10s. Auckland. — On the 26th October last, EMMA COOK’S dwelling at 29 Buchanan Street was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring, set with two diamonds and two sapphires (one sapphire missing) ; a gold bar brooch, set with a red stone in centre; a two-section tramway concession ticket; and 10s. 3d. : total value, £6 7s. 9d. Identifiable except money.

MURRAY THOMPSON, 6 Oliphant Street, a dark-grey double-breasted heavy overcoat, wide belt with a brass buckle on it, straight side pockets, right pocket half-lined with brown material; value, £5. Identifiable. About 9 p.m. on the above date, whilst on the Nelson Street Wharf, complainant was assaulted by two unknown men who stole his overcoat.

Auckland. —4th October last, from a cabin on the s.s. “ Remuera,” the property of GEORGE DENNENT, steward, a green-canvas suit-case, about 3 ft. long and about 2 ft. deep, with “ Wallsend ” on it, containing a pair of navy-blue dungaree trousers ; ten pairs of grey army socks ; four bluestriped cotton jumpers; two small boxes, containing cotton, buttons, and needles, “ Dennent ” on most of the clothing; a Valet autostrop safety razor in a nickel case ; and a quarterplate German camera : total value, £l2. 18 ct. gold cameo heavy ring ; a gold bar brooch, with “ Winnie ”on it; a gold Maltese cross, with “F. Herring ” on it ; a gold double-bar heart brooch with a pink coral in centre ; a gold chased small locket, containing hair ; a gold heavy ring, set with a pink cameo ; a gold small ring, set with aquamarines and amethysts ; and £2l 6s. in notes and silver : total value, £42 6s. Identifiable.

KING’S dwelling at 19 George Street was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A gentlemen’s gold ring, set with a white sapphire ; a ladies’ gold ring, set with five diamonds ; a gold engagement-ring, set with a large diamond ; a gold ring, set with a cluster of diamonds and emeralds ; a screw-top scarf-pin, set with diamonds and emeralds ; a diamond stud ; and a stud, set with a white sapphire: total value, £79 11s. Whitianga. — On the 12th ultimo WALTER STEEDMAN’S dwelling was broken into, and a watch and watchchain (recovered), a £5 note, four £1 notes, and £1 in silver stolen therefrom.

Stratford. —JOE VELA and SAM MORONO VIC’S money, &c., stolen : The stolen property with the exception, of the twenty £1 notes has been recovered in a urinal at the railway-station. Wellington. —l9th October last, from the doorway at the Soldiers’ Hostel in Vivian Street, the property of JOHN KENNETH MILLAR, a brown-leather kit-bag, about 26 in. by 18 in. by 14 in., containing two black-and-white shirts, with “ J.K.M.” on each; four white soft collars, with “ J.K.M.” on each ; a miner’s lamp ; a gold signet ring, with “ J.K.M.” on it; and military discharges in complainant’s name : total value, £2O. Suspicion is attached to William Robert Sinclair, alias Henry Connelly, age forty-six, height 5 ft. 61 in., painter, native of America, good build, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes, clean-shaved, Crucifix on chest, left fingers and thumb missing ; dressed in a grey suit, loose shirt, collar and tie, fawn overcoat, and grey cap.
