Wanganui. —l6th instant, on warrant for breaking and entering the dwelling of Harry Louis Goble, labourer, 21 Heads Road, and stealing therefrom an overcoat, two suits, and a shirt (recovered), and a brown-tweed three-quarter-length overcoat with Raglan sleeves and cuffs, two bluestriped shirts with 14|in. collars, and £6 3s. 3d., total value £32 Bs. 3d., W. Logan (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, dark complexion, hair, and eyes ; dressed in a dark suit and dark soft-felt hat turned down in front, and wears gold pince-nez. Accused sold the recovered articles to second-hand dealers.

Wanganui.-21st instant, for escaping from Wanganui Prison, Robert Gilmour Allen, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 41 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, long fair hair brushed back, light-brown eyes ; dressed in a blue suit, black boots with patent-leather toe-caps, and prison underclothing. (recovered), value £2l 65., Percy Devine, alias F. J. Dyson, age about twenty-nine, height about 5 ft. 7 in., dark .hair and complexion, pointed nose ; well dressed in a dark suit and brown soft-felt hat. The property was recovered at second-hand shops, where it had been sold by the above-described man who gave the names mentioned.

Wellington. —3rd February last, that he may be interviewed regarding a blue-serge sac coat, the property of James A. Annear, which he may have in his possession, William Chapman, age about twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 8 in., fair hair and complexion, clean-shaved ; dressed in a blueserge suit and black-felt hat.
