Auckland. Between the sth and 20th January last THOMAS MAXWELL’S dwelling at 157 Jervois Road, Ponsonby, was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A gold double-bar brooch, set with an amethyst in centre and “ R.M.” on back; a trinket-box with a cupid design on silver top; a£l note; and about 2s. in silver : total value, £4 10s. Identifiable.

Hamilton.— Between the 3rd and 15th ultimo .THOMAS BAKER INSOLL’S dwelling in Clyde Street was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A ladies’ gold ring, set with three opals and four diamonds in claw setting ; a ladies’ gold ring, set with a cluster of diamonds in platinum setting ; a gold tie-pin in the form of a shamrock-leaf, set with three pink corals; a gold tie - pin, set with a pearshaped cloudy pearl in cup setting; a silver card-case, embossed around edges ; a suede-leather tobacco-pouch ; a gold stud with a movable top; a small medicine-chest; several keys ; a sovereign ; and about £1 3s. in silver : total value, about £4O 18s. Identifiable except money.

Hamilton.— 9th ultimo, from Cochrane’s stables in Ward Street, the property of LESLIE HERBERT FULLERTON, farmer, Te Kowhai, a gentlemen’s khaki overcoat, half-lined with white flannelette, with a row of British military buttons and a row of New Zealand military buttons on it;' a pair of woollen gloves, with leather-bound cuffs and dome fastener; and a grey woollen scarf, with “ N.Z. Red Cross Society, Waimate,” on a piece of white calico on one corner : total value, £4. Identifiable.

Te Awamutu.— Between the 30th November and 10th January last, IVOR PARSON’S dwelling at Pirongia was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : An 18 ct. gold medal, shape and size of a half-crown, with “ Presented to E. A. Easson ”on it; a gold cross brooch, set with a small diamond in each corner ; a pearl necklace, about 1 ft. long ; a gold fine-link neck-chain, with a greenstone axe attached ; two blue-and-white-flannelette blouse-lengths; and a red-and-white blouse-length : total value, £ls. Jewellery only identifiable. Also a gold brooch, about the size of a sovereign, with “ H.M.P.” on it; a gold brooch, with “H.J.P.” on it; a neck-chain, with a pendant set with pearls attached; a gold engagement-ring, set with three rubies and two diamonds; a gold Maltese cross medal, with “J. O. Pettit, Conductor, Ritual,” on it; a ladies’ gold plated ring ; a gold heart-shaped locket, set with a diamond in centre and “ Mizpah ” on inside ; a gold earring, set with a diamond and a ruby ; a piece of cream silk ; a floral voile dress-piece; a piece of casement cloth : and a white crochet blouse : total value, £4O : identifiable: the property of JOHN OLIVER PETTIT.

Patea.— 6th ultimo, from a motor-car in a paddock at Whenuakura, a black-opossum rug, 5 ft. by 4 ft. 6 in., with red lining, value £l6, identifiable, the property of CHARLES FRANCIS PULLEY; also a Franco electric torch, value

17s. 6d., identifiable, the property of JOHN PEARCE ; and a mauve-silk scarf with white stripes at each end, value 10s., the property of MARION PEARCE. Suspicion is attached to two men, names unknown. Description: First, age about eighteen, tall thin build, dark complexion; dressed in a grey shabby suit. Second, about seventeen, short, stout build, long fair hair, round features; dressed in yellow-coloured breeches with buttons at knees.

Wellington.— Between the 18th and 23rd January last from the People’s Palace Private Hotel in Cuba Street, the property of WILLIAM NOEL MULGROVE, a gold signet ring, with “ W.N.M.” on outside and “ From mother to Noel ”on inside ; value £3 Bs. Identifiable.

Wellington. On or about the 14th October last, from Reid’s stables in Edgehill Street, the property of REGINALD WILKIN, Johnsonville, a dark-brown pigskin saddle with nickel stirrups (English make); value, £4. Identifiable.

Wellington.— On or about the 26th January last, from a vest in a bunk on the s.s. “ Ripple,” the property of JAMES RAFFERTY, fireman, a gentlemen’s silver hunting-watch, Ehrhardt, London, maker, “ Davis, Greymouth,” scratched on inside case; and a 15 ct. gold fetter-and-oval watchchain : total value, £l2. Identifiable.

Wellington. Between the 23rd December and the 19th January last, from the Rutland Private Hotel, the property of EVELINE FRANCIS CAMPBELL, a green-fibre suit-case, with leather corners and a lock at each end, containing a pair of ladies’ white doe-skin shoes (size 4), a pair of ladies’ blackleather shoes (size 4), a check skirt, and other articles of ladies’ underclothing ; a black-and-white Greek china vase ; and a parcel of music : total value, £lO. Identifiable.

Pioton.— • January last, from the s.s. “ Arahura,” the property of ROBERT JOHN WALKER, auctioneer, Blenheim, a gentlemen’s khaki double-breasted semi-trench Burberry overcoat, oil-stains on right side and sleeve, fleecy flannel lining ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Picton.— l3th January last, from the person of JAMES STEVENSON, 29 Ure Street, Oamaru, while in a motor-car, a. gentlemen’s silver hunting Rotherhams watch, No. 237624, “W. Wylie, Watchmaker, Oamaru,” on dial, and “J. Stevenson, 28/4/07,” on inside of back case; a 9 ct. gold double watch-chain, short links joined with gold wire at each joint; a gold Maltese cross pendant, with “Won by J. Stevenson,” a date, and “ 0.V.F.8.” on it ; a small greenstone circle with “ N.Z.” in gold in centre; a silver-mounted bullet; and a steel watch-key : total value, £l3 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to James Thomas Doreen and John Hamilton. Description First, age about forty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and bushman. Second, about thirty-eight, height about 8 ft., labourer and bushman, medium build, tanned complexion, dark hair. The suspects were interviewed by the Blenheim police without result.
