SPECIAL INQUIRY.

Wellington. —Special inquiries are to be made with a view to establishing the parentage of a male child whose body was found floating in the Wellington Harbour, near Kaiwarra. Medical testimony shows that the body was that of a newly born child ; the skull was fractured, and the brain lacerated. There is no doubt that the child was born alive, and that the injuries inflicted were caused while alive. At an adjourned inquest held on the 26th ultimo the following verdict was returned: Deceased died at Wellington on or about the 3rd day of February, 1921, from a fractured skull. There is no evidence to show how or by whom such injury was inflicted upon deceased.” Any information regarding this matter is to be communicated to the Superintendent of Police, Wellington.
