PROPERTY STOLEN.

Helensville. —On the 11th ultimo, ALEXANDER MURRAY’S hut at Riverhead was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A single-barrel 12-bore breech-loading gun, with “Keep, Birmingham ” on barrel; a cardboard box, containing twenty-five cartridges with “ Rem. U.MO. 3—l 1/8 4 N. C. Dunport ” on them ; a silver hunting Waltham watch, No. 4570657; a table-knife ; a fountain pen ; a tin of milk ; and a tin of jam : total value, £6 12s. Gun and watch only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Dick Young, age fifty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., gum-digger, native of New Zealand, medium build, sunburnt complexion, dark hair, flat nose ; roughly dressed.

Auckland.— EßlC DOUGLAS LE QUESNE’3 money stolen : The suspect has been arrested by the Timaru police on another charge. No evidence regarding this offence has been obtained. His correct name is John Lewis Colter Sharpin. (See Police Gazette, 1919, page 649.)

Hamilton. —Between 12th and 19th October last, from THOMAS STEVENSON CRAY’S washhouse at Frankton Junction, a double-barrelled 12-bore hammerless English gun, with a red rubber stocking about 4 in. long on butt end of stock ; value, £2l. Identifiable.

Tauranga. — l7th ultimo, from a paddook at Pyes Pa, the property of HENRY MOORE, farmer, Gate Pa, an eight-year-old black pony gelding, about 14 hands, one white hind foot, long tail, WL branded on near shoulder; value, £ 12. Identifiable.

New Plymouth. Between the 29th ultimo and 2nd instant, from a tin box in NEWTON KING AND CO.’S strong-room, six £SO notes on the National Bank of New Zealand, No. 1705, 2013, 4962, 1388, 1493, and 0476. Identifiable.

Masterton. —sth instant, from a veranda at a boardinghouse at the Waingawa Freezing-works, the property of JOHN HARRIS, a gentlemen’s B.S.A. Ruby Special bicycle, upturned handles with one grip, steel mud-guards, Sirdar tire on front wheel, racing-saddle ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Masterton.— 4th instant, from the Post-office, the property of CLARENCE HOPKINS, a gentlemen’s free-wheel bicycle, straight handles with one grip, rubber pedals, steel rims and mud-guards, back-pedalling brake, red Dunlop tire on front wheel; value, £6. Identifiable.

Lower Hutt.— On or about the Bth instant RONALD HORMAN’S shop in Main Street was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom A silver-plated manicureset, a set of teaspoons in a blue-silk-lined case, a set of teaspoons in a greeu-silk-lined case, a ladies’ silver companion, two ladies’ silver wristlet Swiss watches, two gentlemen’s silver wristlet Swiss watches, a gentlemen’s metal huntingwatch, an aluminium calendar, four silver serviette-rings, a plated serviette-ring, a cigarette-case, a silver tobacco-pouch, four fountain pens, and a box of Dorothy thimbles; total value, £34. Identifiable.

Wellington.— On or about the 12th ultimo, from the Wellington Hospital, the property of BESSIE BURTON, 1 Penrose Avenue, a blue jersey coat, with two fawn stripes at bottom and on belt, two outside pockets; value, £7 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Woman (name unknown), stout build, dark complexion. Complainant lent the coat to her mother, who was a patient, and the suspect called at the Hospital, representing that she had been sent for it, giving her name as Mrs. Burton. The coat was handed over by a nurse.

Wellington. —On or about the 3rd instant, from a jewelbox in EDITH CLARK’S bedroom at 90 Wellington Terrace, a ladies’ gold knife-edge-pattern ring, set with two large diamonds in platinum claw setting ; value, £l5O. Identifiable.

Wellington. — 4th instant, from the person of ALBERT FRANCIS DUSTIN, 118 Tasman Street, while in the White Swan Hotel, a gentlemen’s silver open- watch, French make, fancy dial with roman figures and gold hands ; and an 18 ct. gold small link curb double watch-chain, with a greenstone heart pendant about 1£ in. wide attached : total value, £2O.
