Government House, Wellington, 2nd July, 1920. Before I leave New Zealand I want to express to you my grateful appreciation of the efficient manner in which members of the New Zealand Police Force have always carried out that part of their work connected with the Government Houses at Wellington and Auckland, and at “ Elmwood,” Christohurch, besides the never-failing attentions which Lady Liverpool and myself have received from the police whenever we have been visiting the various localities of the Dominion. Unquestionably, this has been of the greatest assistance to me in carrying out the duties connected with my office. Liverpool. The Commissioner of Police, Wellington.
