Accused obtained a suit, an overcoat, and a hat, value £lB 125., from the Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-operative Company by falsely representing to George Daubney, salesman, that he had paid for them in the office upstairs. He may be accompanied by his wife.

Wellington.— 2oth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellihgton Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £2 10s. fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, James Robertson, alias Peter Burns, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of Scotland, medium build, ruddy complexion, brown hair, grey eyes. Wellington. — Bth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for seven days in default of paying £5 Bs. fine and costs for obscene language, Phyllis Banks alias Lambess, alias Doreen, alias Ivy Banks, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 2in., tailoress, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, scar on left thumb and middle finger and on chin. Wellington. — William Gray, failing to maintain : It has been ascertained by the Wellington Police that a man of the same name and description who is thought to be identical with accused takes small contracts in bricklaying and chimney - building in the Marton district. Christchurch. — 9th ultimo, for false pretences, Ernest James Taylor, alias Wilson, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes; dressed in a blue suit and light-felt hat. Accused obtained a blank cheque from Thomas William Price, Empire Hotel, filled it in for £l2 10s., and uttered it to Morris Hollander, outfitter, 226 High Street, in payment of £6 9s. 6d. for a coat, which he received together with £6 os. 6d. change. Christchurch. —9th December last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Rachael Hopa Paura, is the mother, George Tomlins, age eighteen, height sft., stable-boy, native of New Zealand, stout build, fair hair and complexion; dressed in brown trousers, dark coat and vest, and black Dr. Jim hat. Arrears to 28th ultimo, £ls 16s.

Christchurch. — 30th January last, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for seven days in default of paying £2 3s. fine and costs for a breach of the peace, James O’Connell, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 6|in., native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes.

Christchurch. — 2oth ultimo, on warrant for theft from a dwelling of a suit, four shirts, &o. (recovered), and a Wellington Post Office Savings-bank book, total value £lB, the property of William Eric O’Sullivan, armourer, Defence Department, J. McLean, alias Austin, age about twentysix, height 5 ft. 10 in., fruit-boiler, native of Tasmania, strong build, fair hair and complexion ; dressed in riding-breeches, brown leggings and boots, grey sport’s coat, and grey cap; good appearance. He poses as a detective. His correct name is supposed to be Frank Jesse Rose, and he is said to be in receipt of a military pension. Accused stole the property from complainant’s bedroom and sold the recovered articles for £1 10s. to a seoond-hand dealer.

Ashburton.— 2sth March last, that a summons for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child may be served upon him, Robert Cutts, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of Australia, strong build, tanned complexion, lightbrown hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved ; one gold front tooth ; right hand deformed.
