MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1911
Inquiries are to be made by the police with a view to taking action against persons offending against the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1911, Sections 120 and 128 (5)- . .. .
It is an offence for any person to describe himself as a Patent Agent or a Patent Attorney unless he is registered as a “ Patent Agent,” which means exclusively an agent for obtaining patents in New Zealand. (Sec. 120.) Also, it is an offence for any person, whether registered or not as a Patent Agent, to use on his place of business, or on any document issued by him or otherwise, the words “ Patent Office,” or any other words such as “Office for Patents,” either alone or in conjunction with any word or words suggesting that his place of business is officially connected with, or is the Patent Office. (Sec. 128(5). The list of registered Patent Agents is published herewith.

Clerk of Magistrate’s Court appointed. (See New Zealand Gazette, 1920, page 749.)
Constable Lawrence Fox has been appointed to be clerk of the Magistrate’s Court and bailiff of the Magistrate’s and Warden’s Courts at Kumara.
Motor Regulation Act, 1908. The distinguishing letters “A.G.1.C.” assigned to the Department of Agriculture under the above-mentioned Act have been cancelled, and the distinguishing letters “ A.G.D.” assigned to that department in lieu thereof. The list published in Police Gazette, 1919, page 769, is to be amended accordingly. (P. 16/969.)
