PROPERTY STOLEN.
Auckland. —Between the 2nd and 7th instant, from the Camera Club rooms in Swanson Street, the property of ALDER FISHER, 202 Queen Street, a quarter-plate doubleextension camera (in a black-leather case), No. 348245, made by C. P. Goertz, Berlin, Tenastigmat lens F. 68, compound shutter D.R.P. and D.R.G. speed from 1 to 250, Sangster Shepherd screen and folding tripod ; value, £ls. Identifiable.
Auckland .—On the 2nd instant MARGARET WINBORN’S dwelling at 20 Onslow Road, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom: A ladies’ gold keyless watch with several silver pieces in back of case, in a preen imitation crocodile-skin' wristlet; and £5 10s.': total value, £8 10s. Watch identifiable.
Auckland.— Od or about the 4th instant, from a bedroom at the Victoria Hotel, £2, the property of FRANK NORTON, carpenter, Taumarunui; aso £3 and a gentlemen’s fawn overcoat, with grease-spots on one sleeve and small hole in left pocket, total value £6, identifiable, the property of DAVID LOGAN, trucker, Taumarunui. Suspicion is attached to Tom Trainor, age about forty, height about sft. Bin., medium build, fair complexion, brown hair; dressed in a blue suit and grey soft-felt hat.
Otahuhu. - 23rd June last, from a counter at Papatoetoe Railway-station, the property of JAMES BROWN, Stationmaster, a gentlemen’s silver hunting keyless Elgin watch, No. 1565952, with “Jim, Xmas, 1908 ” on inside of case; value, £5. Identifiable.
Hastings. —l9th ultimo, from a shed in Queen Street, the property of MELVILLE CUNNINGHAM, Mangaterecere, a 3£ horse-power B.S.A. motor-bicycle, registered No. Ha 144, fixed engine, belt drive, small soldered patch on tank, foot-rests composed of a bolt inside a piece of piping ; value, £4O. Identifiable.
Hastings. Bth November last, the property of the ESTATE OF THE LATE HENRY WELCH, a small brownleather handbag, a suit of pyjamas, a hair-brush and comb, a greenish overcoat, a round Maori War Medal, and a Maori War Medal in the form of a cross, with “ H. Welch, 65th Regiment,” and a date on them; total value, £7 17s. Medals and overcoat only identifiable. Deceased lost his life in a railway accident at Mataroa on above date, and no trace of his property can be found.
Wellington. — 2sth ultimo, from Willeston Street, the property of the BRITISH EMPIRE TRADING COMPANY, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, No. 16672, upturned handles, rubber pedals, Eadie Coaster brakes, steel rims and mud-guards, Dunlop tires, “ E.S.” carved on saddle; value, £6. Identifiable.
Taranaki Street (Wellington).— On or about the 15th ultimo, from EDWARD STYLES’S bedroom ad 10 Kensington Street, a gold tiepin, set with a quarter-carat diamond ; value, £5 15s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Jack Clarence Herbert Zeatman, age sixteen, height 5 ft. 3in., steward, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, auburn hair, blue eyes. He has been interviewed by the Wellington police, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1919, page 432.)
Taranaki Street (Wellington.)— 4th instant, from Jervois Quay, the property of ERNEST VALENTINE SANDERSON, Lower Hutt, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled 24 in. B.S.A. bicycle, No. 54152, upturned handles with black grips, nickel rims, rat-trap pedals, Eadie Coaster hub, front-rim brake, steel mud-guards, Palmer tires ; value, £l2. Identifiable.
Christchurch. —2oth June last, from River Road, the property of JOHN REGINALD DINGWALL, 152 Durham Street, a 3£ horse-power three-speed 1915 model Triumph motor-bicycle, No. 195999, registered No. C.H. 1493, free engine, V-shaped handles, steel rims (two dents in back one), brake on back wheel, right foot-rest bent, steel mud-guards, Michelin tire on front wheel, Spencer-Moulton tire on back wheel; value, £42. Identifiable.
Timaru. 3rd ultimo, from the Dominion Hotel, the property of JOSEPH TANGNEY, Morven, a grey-and-brown heavy Petone rug, with “ Rev. Dr. Kennedy ” worked with brown silk in one corner; value, £4. Identifiable.
Gladstone. —Between the 16th and- 18th ultimo, from McKechnie’s bakery in Arthur Street, the property of WILLIAM HENRY PAY, baker, a double - barrelled hammerless 12-bore shot-gun, with “ C. Saunders, Paramata,” on top of barrels and on each side of stock ; value, £lO. Identifiable.
