Queen Street Wharf (Auckland).— 23rd ultimo, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “ Opihi,” Elverto Liga.ro, age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 5 in., seaman, supposed native of Peru, medium build, dark hair and complexion ; speaks very little English ; a prohibited immigrant.

Auckland. —18th July last, that proceedings for failing t) register may be instituted against him, Sofus Thomerson, age forty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., seaman, native of Norway, medium build, dark hair and moustache.

Auckland.— 3rd October last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £l9 arrears due on a maintenance order for the swpport of his wife, Louisa Butler, 14 Cobden Street, Newton, Andrew Butler, alias Andrew Michael Butler,

alias Michael Butler, age forty, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and contractor, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, dark hair v brown eyes, flat nose, ginger moustache, nearly all teeth missing, scar over right eye. Arrears computed to 2nd August last. (See Police Gazette , 1916, page 831.)

Otahuhu. —2oth ultimo, that a copy of minute of order for the maintenance of his wife and child may be served upon him, Albert Moresby Salt, age twenty - eight, height about 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, dark hair and complexion ; a half-caste native of Norfolk Island. He is supposed to be living with a woman, and may be found working on a farm.

Napier. —23rd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for one month in default of paying £lO 3s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Agnes Jane Walker, Robert Walker, age forty-one, height 5 ft. 10 in., carpenter, native of Scotland, strong build, florid complexion, fair hair, Roman nose ; talkative. Arrears computed to 11th November last.

Napier.— 9th October last, on warrant for failing to maintain his illegitimate child, John George Orr, age twenty-two, height about 5 ft. 6 in., shearer and freezingworks hand, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, artificial upper teetb, one gold tooth in right side. Complainant, Fann Sundborn, 34 Marine Parade, Napier.

Wanganui —Bth instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Arthur Baker, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 10 in., farm-manager, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, black hair, grey eyes, round face, clean-shaved; usually dressed in a grey suit and dark-felt hat; good appearance. He may be accompanied by Mrs. Hammond and his son aged twelve years.

Wanganui.— 6th instant, for theft of £7, the property of A. Driscoll, labourer, Fordell, Leo Flynn Bradley, age seventeen, height 5 ft. lin., stable-boy, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes; dressed in a dark Norfolk knickerbocker suit and grey cap. Accused was working for James Campion, farmer, Fordell, and complainant gave him a cheque for £7 to cash at the Bank of Australasia, Wanganui. Accused cashed the cheque, but failed to return to the farm. He was licensed out from Weraroa Training Farm to a farmer at Hawera, and absconded from there. (See Police Gazette, 1918, page 171.)

Masterton.— 23rd December last, on warrant for theft of 2 gallons of whisky (recovered), value £6 17s. 6d., the property of Levin and Co., Wellington, William Gill, age fiftyseven, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of Ireland, strong build, fresh crmplexion, dark hair (bald), brown eyes, scar on left hand ; usually dressed in a dark suit and hard hat; walks slowly ; slovenly appearance. The jar of whisky was at Clareville, and the accused, who at that station was put off the train for being drunk, hid the jar some distance away. (See Police Gazette, 1916, page 275.)

Mount Cook. —lßth ultimo, on warrant for using obscene language in Tasman Street, Ernest George Broderick, age thirty-eight, height sft. sin., wharf labourer and cook, native of New Zealand, slight build, sallow complexion, curly dark hair, brown eyes; dressed in a dark suit and grey soft-felt hat. He failed to appear in answer to a summons.

Westport.— 2lst ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Westport Police-gaol for seven days in default of paying £2 10s. fine and costs for being illegally on licensed premises, Christopher Seddon, age forty five, height 5 ft. 8 in., fireman, native of England, stout build, grey hair, blue eyes.
