Papakura. —lßth November last, from the Railway Department’s paddock, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Railway Department), an aged light bay draught horse, 18 hands, black points, white streak on forehead, long body, docked tail, awkward action ; value, £4O. Identifiable.
Napier. —On or about the 4th ultimo, from a shed at the Breakwater Wharf, the property of PETER McCALLUM, 96 Marine Parade, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled bioycle (grips and mud-guards missing), rubber pedals, several new spokes in back wheel ; value, £4. Identifiable.
Hastings.— 26th October last, from the Y.M.C.A. Buildings in Station Street, the property of CHRISTOPHA BLENKHORN, Mahora, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, No. 143352, back-pedalling brake, black grips, rat-trap pedals, parcel-carrier attached ; value, £7 10s. Identifiable.
Feathebston. ERNEST WILLIAM JOHN SMITH’S shop broken into : The following articles are now reported stolen in addition to those already described in the Police Gazette : A ladies’ 14 ct. gold hunting Elgin watch ; a ladies’ 10 ct. gold hunting Elgin watch ; a ladies’ 14 ct. gold Omega watch; and a ladies’9ct. gold Omega watch : total value, £ls Bs. (See Police Gazette, 1918, page 697.)
Wellington. Between November and 10th December last while in transit between America and Auckland, or between Auokland and Wellington, per s.s. “ Waitomo,” the property of MERLER AND CO., Auckland, from three cases, forty-two pairs of ladies’ patent-leather “ Cinderella ” Court shoes, with man holding shoe in his right hand in the act of fitting it to the foot of “ Cinderella,” who is sitting on a shield held by a dragon, which has “ H.B.G. & Co.” on it, also “leather soles made in U.S.A., &c.,” in a square on soles ; and six pairs of ladies’ black suede shoes, with single strap fastenings : total value, £45 16s. Not identifiable.
Wellington. WELLINGTON WOOLLEN MANUFACTURING COMPANY, crepe de Chine stolen ; Herbert William Thomas Pring has been arrested for the offence by the Lyttelton and Christchurch police. (See Police Gazette, 1918, page 603.)
Mount Cook. —2Bth November last, from a bedroom at the Salvation Army Soldiers’ Hostel, the property of HORACE WILLIAM LANDON LANE, a silver hunting wristlet Omega watch, No. 5558084, with “ H. W. Lane, Presented by Staff, Bank of N.S.W., Blenheim, 13/11/17,” on outside case; value, £7 10s. Identifiable.
Chbistchubch. —2lst October last, from a right-of-way at the United Service Hotel, the property of JOHN MATHESON, 11 Coronation Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled freewheel B.S.A. Kent bicycle, No. 2543, straight handles with black grips, nickel rims with black centres, rat-trap pedals, back-pedalling brake, Dunlop tires, complainant's name and address written on inside of saddle; value, £ls. Identifiable.
Timaru. —7th September last, from Stafford Street, the property of JESSIE W. B. WADE, a ladies’ black-enamelled free-wheel Speedwell bioycle, No. 6107, rubber pedals ; value, £5. Identifiable.
Timaru. —On or about October last, from WILLIAM HENRY WALTON’S office, a gentlemen’s black-enamclled free-wheel Imperial Rover bicycle, No. 30559, steel pedals; value, £6. Identifiable.
