Auckland. —7th instant, on warrant tor escaping from the Salvation Army Home, Parnell, Rose Hunter, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 7 in., waitress and prostitute, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh o mplexion, brown hair (cut short), grey eyes, scar on right thumb and ringfinger and on back of left hand; dressed in a gabardine costume, cream-coloured blouse, silk stockings, and straw hat with a pink ribbon. On the 7th instant she was convicted of vagrancy and ordered to be detained in the Army Home for one year.

Auckland. —7th instant, on warrant for escaping from the Salvation Army Home, Parnell, Mona Anderson, alias Whealer, alias Mrs. Archie Heftier, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 3 in., prostitute, native of Australia, medium build, pale complexion, brown hair (cut short), grey eyes, sore-looking eyelids ; wearing a long black cloth overcoat, black-silk stockings, and pink straw hat with high crown. On the 7th instant she was convicted of vagrancy and ordered to be detained in the Salvation Army Home for one year.

Auckland. —4th July last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Rose Elizabeth Hall, 63 Virginia Avenue, Mount Eden, Hugh John Hall, alias John Robert Smith, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., packer, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, lightbrown hair, light-grey eyes, scar on upper lip and on right hand and thumb, two moles on left cheek. Hamilton.— 6th instant, on warrant for failing to make provision for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Dick Yisko, age about thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 9 in., carpenter, native of Dalmatia or Russia, medium build, sallow complexion, black hair parted in centre, grey eyes, clean-shaved; dressed in a grey suit and brown soft-felt bat. Complainant, Mary Warden, domestic, Empire Hotel, Frankton Junction.

Taumarunui.— loth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £59 10s. 3d. fine and costs for illegally keeping liquor for sale, John Joseph Stanton, alias Paddy Stanton, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of Ireland, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes ; usually dressed in an old dark-tweed suit and slouch hat; slightly stooped; fond of drink.

Wellington. —l6th March last, that she may be compelled to pay £49 2s. 6d. arrears due for the maintenance of her child, Iris C. Goodwin, an inmate of Wellington Receiving Home, Sarah Goodwin, alias Miller, age forty-one, height sft. 2|in., prostitute and cook, native of New Zealand, stout build, ruddy complexion, darkbrown hair, hazel eyes, scar on one temple and on lefc palm. Wellington. —29th July last, that proceedings for failing to notify his change of address (Registration of Aliens Act, 1917) may be instituted against him, Joseph Nohra Koory, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 6in., hawker, native of Syria, strong build, black hair and complexion, cross on right arm.

Christchurch. —12th March last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, Andrew Dunick, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, scar over left eyebrow, on left cheek, and on back of left hand. Christchurch. —2nd February last, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Prison for one month in default of paying £9 2s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Edith Elizabeth Bowen, Harold Charles Bowen, age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 6in., motor mechanic, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark hair and complexion, blue eyes; usually well dressed in a grey suit, low-cut vest, brown fur hat with black band, and tan boots. Arrears computed to the 11th instant.

Invercargill. —4th instant, on two warrants for breaking into a garage and stealing therefrom a motorcar (recovered), value £230, the property of Rattray and Sons, merchants, Otto Muir, age twenty, height 5 ft. 4 in., saddler, native of New Zealand, good build, pale complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes; bright manner; smart appearance ; may be wearing a fawn overcoat: and Leslie Greig, age about eighteen, height 5 ft. 8 in., printer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes; probably dressed in grey trousers and sports coat and dark cap; sullen disposition ; smart appearance. They may be in possession

of a -32 calibre Marlin repeating-rifle, No. 6805, and a ’25 calibre Marlin repeating-rifle. The car was found bogged on the Papatotora Road. There are other charges pending.
