PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland.— 2lst ultimo, on military warrant for detention on Somes Island for an indefinite period for being a disaffected and dangerous alien, W. Pruszynski, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 7| in., seaman and painter, supposed native of Russia, medium build, sallow complexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, steamer with four funnels on right forearm and on right and left shoulder-blades; usually dressed in a blue or grey suit, and grey-felt hat with black band ; smart erect gait; polite manner; speaks English fairly veil. He is identical with Yladmir Pruszynski, alias Victor Arnold Smith, &c., referred to in Police Gazette, 1918, page 591, and Photographs, page 50.

Hastings. —l6th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for twenty-one days in default of paying £3 10s. fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, James Henry Tietjens, ago forty-eignt, height 5 ft. 6 in., cook, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, clean-shaved; seaman waving cap aud sailor’s farewell on right forearm ; clasped hands over heart; feather, “ J.A.T.” and “N.T.” on left forearm; usually dressed in a brown suit and oap. Bull’s. —lst instant, on warrant for false pretences, Frank Ashbolt, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 9 in., gardener, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, dark-brown hair; usually dressed in a grey suit and dark soft-felt hat. He may be accompanied by his wife. Accused obtained goods value £5 12s. 6d. from J. J. Mansell, storekeeper, by falsely representing that he was employed by H. K. Dalrymple, farmer, Parewanui.

Feilding. —On or about the 12th ultimo, on warrant for forgery and uttering, Howard Patton Gandy, age thirty-six, height about 5 ft. 10 in., electrician, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark hair and complexion, darkbrown eyes, clean-shaved, mole on left cheek. Accused forged the name “W. J. Gandv” to a cheque for £52 10s., drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Te Aro, Wellington, and uttered it to William George Haybittle, accountant, Denbigh Square. Wellington. —sth September last, that proceedings for failing to enrol in the Expeditionary Force Reserve may be instituted against him, Arthur Reay, age about forty, height 5 ft. 11 in., native of New Zealand, stout build, fair hair.

Westport.— 29th ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, Percy Kirkby, alias George Kirkby, alias George Williamson, age thirty-nine, heignt 5 ft. 10 in., native of England, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair, left knee has been injured; dressed in khaki ridingbreeches and puttees, brown-tweed coat and vest, and light-brown-felt hat. Accused obtained a collar and a handker-

chief and £3 18s. from Percy Cohen, manager for Hallenstein and Co., Palmerston Street, by moans of a valueless cheque for £4, drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Wanganui, and signed “ George Williamson.” A soldier’s paybook left in his room at the Criterion Hotel shows that his correct name is Percy Kirkby, that he is a returned soldier, and that allotments were made from his pay to his wife, Catherine Roe Kirkby, Anzac Parade, Wanganui. He may be identical with Percy Kirkby, referred to in Police Gazette, 1918, page 625.

Lyttelton. —lst instant, on warrant for deserting from tho s.s. “ Romuera,” J. McLaughlin, age thirty-three, height 6 ft., fireman, native of England, strong build, sandy hair and complexion, small moustache.

Culverden. —30th September last, that a notice of fine and costs for £3 for assault may be served upon him, Thomas Tangney, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, thick nose, mole on each cheek and under left eye, scar on left knee. Dunedin.— 3oth September last, that he may be compelled to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of Vivian E. J. Styles, an inmate of Christchurch Receiving Home, George Francis Styles, age fortythree, height 5 ft. 9Jin., labourer, native of England, slight build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, scar on left wrist. Arrears to 26th September last, £73 4s. 3d. He may be identical with man of same name referred to in Police Gazette, 1915, page 610.
