Hamilton. —4th instant, that he may be interviewed regarding an alleged charge of bigamy, John Casey, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 7§ in., carter, native of New Zealand, swarthy complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, scar on chin, on right forearm, and on right forefinger. (See Police Gazette, 1912, page 377.)
Opotiki. —2oth July last, for failing to enrol in the Expeditionary Force Reserve, J. Grant, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 10in., blacksmith, native of New Zealand, stout build, light-brown hair, blue eyes; usually dressed in a dark-tweed suit.
Ohakune. —7th instant, that proceedings for failing to notify his change of address may be instituted against him, Camille Body, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 7i >n., gardener and cook, native of France, medium build, darkbrown hair turning grey and going bald, brown eyes, white-and-black spot on one side of nose; active gait; talks quickly. (See Police Gazette, 1918, page 524.)
Napier. —l3th June last, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for seven davs in default of paying 16s. for wilful damage, Mary Walsh, age forty, height 5 ft. 2 in., prostitute, native of New Zealand, stout build, florid complexion, red hair, dark eyes, lupus face. (See Police Gazette, 1918, pages 395 and 396.)
Hastings.— Chris Creevey, theft: It has been ascertained by the Wellington police that accused left this Dominion by the s.s. “ Manuka ” on 26th ultimo for Sydney. (See Police Gazette, 1918, page 592.)
Upper Hutt. —Bth instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Maude Mary Davies, and her five ohildren, James Davies, age about thirty-four, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes ; usually dressed in a dark suit and cap; fond of billiards; a half-caste Indian.
Wellington. —sth instant, on warrant for forgery and uttering, William Scholes, alias Thorne, alias Mansell, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 5f in., clerk, native of America, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, scar under left ear and on right side of abdomen. Acoused forged the name of William Brook Taylor to a cheque for £8 on the Bank of New South Wales, and uttered it to Harold Osborne Osborne, hairdresser, Cecil Buildings, Lambton Quay. He endorsed the name “ Wm. Mansell ” on the cheque. (See Police Gazette, 1916, page 482, and Photographs, page 40.)
Christchurch.— l4th July, 1908, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his child, James Palatohie, an inmate of the Boys’ Training Farm at Nelson, Albert George Grantham, age fifty-one, height 5 ft. 4 in., carpenter, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark hair and complexion, brown eyes; swinging gait. Arrears to 31st July, 1916, £4l 17s. (See Police Gazette, 1915, page 672.)
Christchurch. —24th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife and child, Thomas George Ashton, age twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair; usually dressed in a dark suit and felt hat. Arrears to 24th ultimo, £l4.
Christchurch. —9th February last, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Prison for forty-eight hours in default of paying 13s. 6d. medical expenses, Howard Malone, age fifty-four, height 5 ft. 10 in., sawmiller, native of Ireland, slight build, pale complexion, grey hair and eyes.
Christchurch.— lßth ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, Joseph Mullaney, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 10 in., groom, slight build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, scar on one hip; usually dressed in riding-breeches and leggings. Arrears to 3rd ultimo, £9.
Timaru. — George McLeod, alias McCloud, absconding from bail : The photograph of John C. Harrison, alias Frederick O’Neil, alias Frank Thomas, alias George O’Neill, alias Tighe, &c., has been identified, on information supplied by the Auckland police, as that of accused, at Timaru ; he is now in Mount Eden Gaol awaiting trial on charges of false pretences. (See Police Gazette, 1912, page 666.) [This is inserted in lieu of the paragraph appearing in Police Gazette, 1918, page 592, where the reference is incorrect.]
Waitati.—2nd instant, for escaping from Seacliff Mental Hospital, Samuel Sparks, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 6 in., gardener, stout build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair and beard ; dressed in dark-coloured trousers branded with a cross, brown-tweed coat and vest, light cap, and Balmoral boots.
Invercargill. —l7th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the sup port of his wife, Louisa Anderson, Otatara, Lawrence Anderson, age thirty-ihree, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, slaughterman, cab-driver, and pugilist, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair and eyes, good teeth ; active appearance. Arrears to 10th instant, £29 6s. Bd. (See Police Gazette, 1910, page 516.)
