PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. —26th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his three children, James Moylan, alias Morris, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, darkbrown hair, blue eyes, heart and “ J ” on left forearm, scar outside right eye and over left eye. Complainant, Ellen Moylan, 117 Nelson Street. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 105.)

Auckland. —sth June last, that proceedings for failing to notify his change of address may be instituted against him, George Sherrock, age forty-three, labourer.

Te Aroha. —19th instant, that a summons for aiding and abetting in the commission of an offence may be served upon him, George Oka, alias Hori, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer and flax-mill hand, aboriginal, medium build, copper complexion, long black frizzy hair, slight cast in eyes; full face.

Napier. —l2th instant, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £2 13s. fine and costs for being illegally on licensed premises, Stanley George Gibb, age nineteen, height 5 ft. 4 in., stable-boy, native of New Zealand, thin build, dark complexion.

Napier. —l2th instant, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £2 13s. fine and costs for being illegally on licensed premises, Leonard Malcolm Manson, age eighteen, height 5 ft., jockey, native of New Zealand, thin build, fair complexion, fair curly hair; usually dressed in grey riding-pants and grey coat.

Hastings. gentlemen’s overcoat (recovered), value £7, the property of George Priest, farmer, Pukehou, Claude Hewison, age twenty-one, height about 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes, left thumb injured, lame on one leg ; usually dressed in a brown suit and soft brown-felt hat; walks with a stick. On the 31st ultimo the coat was stolen from complainant’s motor-car in Avenue Road, and sold by Edith Elizabeth Pine (on accused’s behalf) to T. A. Smith, second-hand dealer. Otaki. —sth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for forty-eight hours in default of paving £1 3s. fine and costs for drunkenness, James Menzies Morrison, age fifty-seven, height 5 ft. 4£in., painter, nttive of Scotland, medium build, fair complexion, grey hair, blue eyes, grey moustache ; usually dressed in a grey suit and cap; erect gait; talkative when under the influence of drink.

Wellington. —lst September, 1917, on warrant for bigamy, Eirnest Henry Mackay, alias Ernest McKay, age thirty, height 5 ft. 8 in., bootmaker, native of Scotland, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, scar on chin, dagger and thistle on left forearm; dressed in a heather coloured suit and dark softfelt hat. Accused, being already married to Ivy Alice Chidey, went through the form of marriage with Pearl Catherine Chidey. (See Police Gazette , 1915, page 185, and Photographs, 1912, page 14.)

Wellington. —2lst instant, that she may be compelled to pay £2O Os. 6d. arrears due for the maintenance of her three children, inmates of Wellington Receiving Home, Eva Brown, age about thirty-three, height about 5 ft. 4 in., domestio, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, brown hair and eyes, long narrow faoe; slovenly appearance. Blenheim.— l4th instant, on warrant for breaking and entering the workmen’s cottage at Meadowbank Station and stealing therefrom a brown-leather purse, containing £l2 35., the property of Alfred Phillips, labourer, Jack Cooper, age about nineteen, height about 5 ft. 5 in., driver, hotel porter and rabbiter, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion, long light-brown hair brushed back, cleanshaved ; dressed in a light-grey sac suit, black soft-felt hat, and greenish knitted soarf fastened in front with a tie-pin.

Blackball. —Bth instant, on warrant for assaulting Edwin Riley so as to cause him actual bodily harm, John Boyle, age thirty-four, height 5 ft. 6 in., coal-miner, native of Australia, scout build, fresh complexion, fair hair, cleanshaved ; dressed in a grey suit and dark cap.

Ross.—l7th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Greymouth Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £1 3s. fine and costs for being illegally on licensed premises, Charles Haughey, age sixty-five, height 5 ft. 6£ in., plasterer, native of Ireland, medium build, fresh complexion, grey hair and moustache, blue eyes ; usually dressed in dark clothes and cap. Christchukch. —22nd instant, that he may be compelled to pay £62 2s. arrears of maintenance due for the support of his three children, inmates of Wellington Receiving Home, John Taylor, age fifty-four, height about 5 ft. 4 in., labourer and porter, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair turning grey, dark eyes and moustache; usually dressed in a dark suit and cap. Arrears computed to 19th ultimo. (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 68.)

Christchurch. —19th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Caroline Jane George is the mother, Bernard Noonan, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. in., butcher, native of New Zealand, strong build fresh complexion, dark-brown curly hair, blue eyes, scar on left cheek. Arrears to 13th instant, £42 10s. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 540.)

Christchurch. —l7th April last, that he may be compelled to pay arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of Ruby Violet Keighran, an inmate of St. Vincents de Paul’s Industrial School, Dunedin, Richard Cochrane, alias Corkran, age fifty-one, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of Tasmania, medium build, tanned complexion, grey hair, brown eyes, disooloured teeth, wrinkled face, left middle finger missing ; usually dressed in a light-tweed suit and felt hat with wide brim ; fond of drink. He may be accompanied by a woman, said to be his wife, who is also fond of drink. (See Police Gazette, 1918, page 132.)

Christchurch. —23rd May last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for two months in default of paying £23 13s. lid., arrears of maintenance due for the support of his illegitimate child, Sydney George Hambly, alias Humbly, age twenty-eight, height 5 it. Ilf in., labourer and tailor’s presser, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark oomplexion, black hair, dark eves, slight cross in left eye, pointed large nose; usually dressed in a blue suit and grey cap or straw hat; suffers from goitre. Christchurch. —Bth May last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Nellie Moher, Henry Herbert Moher, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer and baker, native of New Zealand, stout build, pale complexion, dark hair, eyes, and moustache, thick neck. Ashburton. — William Robert Hyde, default of maintenance : It has been ascertained by the Ashburton police that the offender is now in Sydney, New South Wales. (See Police Gazette, 1912, page 330.)
