Newton. —27th February last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, George Woods, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 7£in., plasterer, native of Australia, medium build.

Waihi. —27th February last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, Charlie IBeck, age twenty, height 5 ft. 10 in., bushman, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair, eyes, and complexion.

Gisborne. —l7th May, 1917, on military warrant for failing to proceed to camp, William Morgan, age fortytwo, height 5 ft. 6 in., bushman.

Opunake. —lst February last, on military warrant for deserting from Expeditionary Force, Morto Vernon Hickey, age twenty, height 5 ft. in., native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes; defective sight.

Napier. —2Bth January last, on military warrant for deserting from Expeditionary Force, Frank Clark, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. 7 in., farm and waterside labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair oomplexion, brown hair, blue eyes, two hearts entwined with “ Frank and Rose ” surrounded with roses and leaves on left arm.

Dannevirke.—lst instant, on military warrant for failing to proceed to camp, Len Field, age thirty, height 5 ft. 8 in., bricklayer, medium build, fresh complexion, curly fair hair, blue eyes ; usually dressed in a slate-coloured suit, soft collar, and bow tie.

Dannevirke. —22nd November last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, John West, age about thirty-one, height about 6ft. Bin., bushman, strong build, brown hair, grey eves. Accused is an expert axeman, and may be found at carnivals.

Palmerston North. — 16th ultimo, on military warrant for failing to proceed to camp, Joseph Paul Fletcher, age thirty-four, height 5 ft. sfin., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, curly brown hair, grey eyes, scar on neck. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 447.)

Masterton. —Ist instant, on military warrant for failing to proceed to camp, James Russell, age about thirty-two, height about sft. Bin., carpenter, stout build, ruddy complexion, dark-brown hair, large nose; usually dressed in a brown suit and felt hat; talkative; erect gait; smart appearance.

Featherston. —7th January last, on military warrant for deserting from Expeditionary Force, John Duggan age thirty-four, height 5 ft. 6£in., farm labourer, medium build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes. Next-of-kin, Alexander William Dalton (friend), Cuba Street, Palmerston North. He was last employed by H. T. Hume, Aohanga.

Upper Hutt. —27th February last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, James Thompson, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, slight build, fair hair and complexion, grey-blue eyes; dressed in a dark-grey suit and felt hat. He suffers from catarrh, and has a nazal speech; smart appearance. He may be identical with man of same name, referred to in Police Gazette, 1914, page 321, and 1918, page 65.

Accused was granted a permit on 26th November, 1915, to go to Australia for three months.

Taranaki Street (Wellington). —27th February last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, William Pullman, age twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 8 in., engine-driver, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes. Accused was granted a permit on the 12th May, 1916, to go to Sydney.

St. Albans. —27th February last, on miliary warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, William Douglas Pearston, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 4 in., butcher, native of Scotland, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair.

Christchurch. —9th January last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, William Richard Hunt, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. lin., medium build, dark complexion, brown hair; deaf.
