PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland.’ —9th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, William Morris, age about twenty-six, height 6 ft., storeman, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark hair and complexion, tattoomark on right forearm. Arrears (including expenses) to 22nd September last, £32 4s. 6d.

Auckland. —l9th September last, that two summonses for breaches of his prohibition order may be served upon him, Daniel Courtney, age forty, height oft. 8 in., labourer, native of Ireland, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, hazel eyes, scar on left cheek.

Auckland.— 23rd ultimo, that a distress warrant for £5 10s. fine and costs for a breach of the Defence Act may be executed upon his effects, Thomas W. Gunn, age eighteen, height about 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and complexion, blue eyes ; dressed in a grey suit and straw hat.

Wellington. —2lst ultimo, that he may be located, Albert Hansen, age thirty-six, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of Norway, fair complexion, sandy hair, dark-brown eyes, H. H. on left wrist. (See Police Gazette, 1916, page 214.)

Wellington. — Joseph Joseph, unlawfully landing in New Zealand and ship-desertion: It has been ascertained by the Mount Cook (Wellington) police that accused has assumed the name Dick Kobdick, and left Wellington for England on the 6th June last as a member of the crew of the s.s. “ Waimate.” (See Police Gazette, 1916, Dages 266 and 620.)

Wellington. —2sth ultimo, on warrant for being absent without leave from the s.s. “ lonic,” J. Williams, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 7 in., steward, native of England, medium build, sallow complexion, fair hair, blue eyes.

Wellington.— 2sth ultimo, on warrant for being absent without leave from the s.s. “lonic,” A. W. Kumph, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 9 in., fireman, native of America, good build, fair complexion, brown hair and eyes, ballet-girl and “ True Love ” on right arm.

Auckland.— 2lst ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, William John Evans, age about thirty-seven, Vieight about 5 ft. 10in., carpenter and seaman, native of Wales, strong build, swarthy complexion, darkbrown hair, blue-grey eyes, crooked nose (inclined to left side), woman and flag on one arm, Hope and Charity on the other. Complainant, Mabel Evans, Rendall Place, Eden Terrace.

Wellington.— 2sth ultimo, on warrant for being absent without leave from the s.s. “ lonic,” G. Pembroke, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., ship’s cook, native of England, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes ; wears glasses.

Wellington. —2sth ultimo, ou warrant for being absent without leave from the s.s. “ lonic,” Robert C. Hopkins, age twenty-two, height about 5 ft. 8 in., fireman, native of England, slim build, fair complexion, sharp features.

Wellington. —loth December, 1915, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for seven days in default of paying £2 11s. Bd. fine and costs for aiding and abetting an assault, James Arthur Shaw, age about twenty six, height 5 ft. 8 in., driver and soldier, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes. He left New Zealand with the 10th Reinforcements.

Nelson. —sth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Nelson Police-gaol for seven days in default of paying £2 3s. balance of fine and costs for being illegally on licensed premises, Edward Morris, age forty-four, height 5 ft. 4Jin., labourer and cook, native of England, slight buiid, sallow complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, dark-brown moustache ; usually dressed in a dark-brown sac suit and grey cap ; slovenly appearance; fond of drink. Waimate. —21st ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Timaru Police-gaol for seven days in default of paying £2 3s. fine and costs for mischief, Ernest Dunn, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 8 in., windmill expert, native of Australia, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes; dressed in a blue dirty suit and cap; fond of drink. He usually carries two small handbags with him, and travels in country districts repairing windmills and lawnmowers. He is also wanted so that a summons for a breach of War Regulations, and also a witness summons, may be served upon him. (See Police Gazette, 1916, page 751.)
