PROPERTY STOLEN.

Ponsonby.— On the 29th ultimo the dwelling of HENRY WILLIAM NOVIS at 87 Clarence Street was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A gentlemen’s 18 ct. gold ring, with heart-shaped shield with “ R. to H.” on it; a 9 ct. gold bracelet with three narrow bands on top (set with three rubies and four diamonds alternately) and a gold bell and cross attached by a fine gold chain ; a gold neck-chain, with a greenstone pendant with a fern-leaf and “N.Z.” on it attached; a gentlemen’s dark grey-tweed overcoat, with V-shaped cuffs and seam between shoulders ; and 10s. in money: total value, £lO 10s. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about thirty-five, strong build, who is suspected of being an accomplice in the offence.

Auckland. —On or about the 16th July last, from 77 St. George Street, the property of CHARLES MUNDY, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold hunting keyless watch, with “New Avon ” on dial and “ C M.” scratched outside case; value, £1 ss. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Michael Tobin, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 9 in., carter, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair, blue eyes, crooked nose, right middle and ring fingers webbed ; dressed in a fadedblue suit and brown-felt bat. The suspect has been interviewed, but no evidence obtained.

Auckland. Street, the property of HENRY SAMWAYS, a gentlemen’s silver hunting lever watch, No. 171463; value, £2. Identifiable.

Auckland. —On or about the 15th May last, from A. M. SKEATES AND CO., jewellers, Queen Street, a gentlemen’s open - face chronograph silver watch, with “J. O'Shea, Diavolo, 1913,” on back case; value, £5 10s. Suspicion is attached to a Woman (name unknown), who called at complainant’s shop for a Mr. O’Shea’s watch, and was handed the above-described watch by mistake.

Auckland. —sth ultimo, from the Royal Hotel, the property of GEORGE TEMPANY, Wyn'yard House, Eden Crescent, a Distinguished-conduct Medal, about the size of half a crown, with the King’s head on one side, and “ For distinguished conduct in the field ” on the other side, and “ Private G. Tetnpany, No. 12/1062,” around the edge ; value, £l. Identifiable.

Whakatane. perty of MANCHERI TIAKI REWIRI, a light-bay gelding, six years, white face and hind feet; a black gelding, three years, narrow white blaze down face, and very strong hairy legs; and a low thick set bay mare, three years, with a white star on forehead: total value, £llO. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to William Lane, alias Hyland, and J. Scrimgeour. First: Age about twenty - five, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, medium build, fair hair and complexion, large mouth, blinking eyes; dressed in a lightcoloured suit, soft slouch brown hat, and may be wearing leggings ; very talkative ; resembles a jockey or horse-trainer. Second: Age about twenty-five, heignt 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, medium build, fair hair and complexion.

Waitaka. —11th July last, from Urenui Saleyards, the property of FRANK HERBERT JELLYMAN, Vogeltown, New Plymouth, a store cow, with red-and-white-and-roan patches; and a cream-coloured Jersey store cow; total value, £lO. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Charles Handley, age forty - five, height 5 ft. 6in., farmer and drover, native of New Zealand, slight build, light-blue eyes.

Manaia. —On or about the 27th ultimo, from the Manaia Hotel, the property of AGNES ANDERSON COOK, a ladies’ gold half-hoop diamond ring (similar to illustration No. 75 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 6) ; a gold Prince of

Wales neck-chain (similar to illustration No. 31 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 3), about 16 in. in Lngth, with a gold heart pendant attached: total value, £lB 10s. Identifiable.

Hastings. —22nd July last, from a motor-car in Hastings Street, the property of DONALD HUNT, Nelson Street, a gun-metal watch, with Roman figures, gold shield on back ; value, £2 10s. Identifiable.

Marton.—24th ultimo, from the Marton Hotel, the property of HENRY T. MANNING, a gentlemen’s fawn-cloth raincoat, “Lewis and Cameron, Marton,” on tab, stains near right pocket; value, £5. Identifiable.

Marton. —lsth ultimo, from a motor-car, the property of WILLIAM TAMON, Tutaeuui, a gentlemen’s very large dark-grey-striped double-breasted overcoat, made by Thomas, Wanganui; value, £7. Identifiable.

Wellington. —lsth ultimo, from Customhouse Quay, the property of MUNT COTTRELL AND CO., a gentlemen’s black - enamelled bicycle, low wide handles steel rims, rat-trap pedals, steel mud-guard on back wheel; value, £3. Identifiable.

Wellington. —SYDNEY JOHNSON’S dwelling broken into : The ladies’ heart-shaped pendant with “ M.K.” on back and the pair of torpedo-pattern gold cuff links have been recovered by the Wellington and Taranaki Street (Wellington) police, and Edward Alfred Foreman arrested for the offence. Christchurch.— On or about the 10th ultimo ARTHUR BRITTEN S shop, 606 Colombo Street, was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom: Eight bicycle inner tubes; two Veeder cyclometers, nine tubes of Dunlop solution, two pots of vaseline, three bottles of “ Three in one” oil, three bicycle-bells, a dozen Continental outfits, six Governor outfits, a tin of Barnett Glass solution, six tins of carbide, and seven tins of Blumes enamel : total value, £3 16s. 3d. Not identifiable.

Christchurch. —2lst ultimo, from the Canterbury Club, the property of GEORGE JAMESON, 116 McFaddens Road, a gentlemen’s grey-tweed overcoat, with three buttons on cuffs, makers, Ballantyne and Co., Christchurch ; and a pair of dog-skin gloves : total value, £8 4s. 6d. Identifiable.

Timaru. —12th ultimo, from the Co-operative Buildings, the property E. G. SELBIE, a gentlemen’s black enamelled free-wheel Townsend bicycle, narrow upturned handles, rattrap pedals (cap missing from right one); value, £4. Identifiable.

Oamaru. —24th July last, the property of MISS MCDONALD, Tcuara, a very long brown fitch-fur with fitchheals at each end; value, £l4. Identifiable. The fur is believed to have dropped from complainant’s motor-car between Totara and Oamaru.

Dunedin. —15th ultimo, from a cabin on the s s. “Kit* tawa,” the property of FREDERICK WILLIAMKELLAN. 13 St. Andrew Street, a gentleim n’s silver hunting English lever Rotherhams watch, No. 12395, with “ E.T.” on outside case ; and a 9 ct. gold curb double watch-chain with a broken quartz pendant and a silver match-box attached : total value, £9 10s. Dunedin. —On or about the Bth ultimo, from a bedroom at 19 Lawson Street, the property ol JOSEPH SMITH, a ladies’ chased silver hunting keyless lever Geneva watch, No. 30370, “ Eastabrooke” on dial ; and a thin gold neckchain, about 4 ft. in length : total value, £7. Identifiable.
