INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Newton (New South Wales). —14th ultimo. A warrant has been issued by the Newtown Bench for the arrest of James Alexander Anderson (known as Alec Anderson), charged with wife-desertion. He is forty-eight years of age, 6 ft. high, well built, fair complexion, grey hair, blue eyes, small grey moustache; a theatrical manager or agent. He was last heard of in New Zealand in 1905. Complainant, Gladys Anderson, 24 Enmore Road. If located, a communication is to be sent to the Commissioner of Police, Wellington. (See Neio South Wales Police Gazette, 1916, page 315.)
Adelaide (South Australia). —15th April last. Confidential inquiries are requested for Alex Hood, who left his wife about the end of last year and is now said to be in New Zealand. Description : Age about thirty-eight, height about 6ft., stout build, dark complexion, round face, black moustache ; usually well dressed. It is thought that he may be in business as a hotelkeeper. Any information regarding this man is to be sent to the Commissioner of Police, Wellington. (P. 16/35.)
