INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Brisbane (Queensland).— 26th April last. Information is requested at the instance of Mrs. Evelyn Newton, Bundaberg, as to the whereabouts of her husband, Gordon Newton, who left home on the 31st ultimo, stating that he had joined the Expeditionary Force at Brisbane, but subsequently wired from Sydney giving no address. Description : Age twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 11 in., butter-factory manager, native of New South Wales, fair complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, regular nose ; dressed in a navy-blue-serge suit, grey-felt hat, soft white shirt, and patent-leather lace-up boots. He may be accompanied by Grace Wynton, who left Bundaberg about the same time, believed for New Zealand to be married. Description: Age about thirty-i-even, tall, very slight build, fair hair, pale complexion. Any information to be sent to the Commissioner of Police, Wellington. Melbourne (Victoria).— 2Bth April, 1916. Inquiry is requested by Mary Williams, 15 Lancaster Street, of Stanley Road, Liverpool, England, for her son, Richard Williams, who was last heard of employed as an able seaman on the cable vessel “Iris” at Auckland, New Zealand. (See Victoria Police Gazette, 1916, page 282.)
