Dronfield Woodhouse (England)— 6th December, 1914. Inquiry is requested for James Thomas Sewell, who is supposed to have come to this Dominion in July last year. Description: Age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 8 in., property agent, native of England, strong build, brown hair, blue or grey eyes, Roman nose, ginger moustache ; fond of drink. He may have assumed the names John Jones or James Parr. Inquiry by his wife, Lydia Sewell, Dronfield Woodhouse, Derbyshire, England. (P. 15/1118.)

Burwood (New South Wales)— lsth ultimo. A warrant has been issued by the Burwood Bench for the arrest of William Berry, charged with embezzling the sum of 3s. 2d., the property of Jesse Haynes, at Strathfield, on the 4th instant. Offender is twenty-three years of age, 5 ft. 10 in. high, medium build, dark complexion and hair, clean-shaved; dressed in a grey-tweed sac suit and black furry hat; a milk-carter; may goto New Zealand. Complainant, Jesse Haynes, Seven Oaks Dairy, Chalmers Road, Strathfield. This notice is subject to instruction No. 13 on page 2 of this Gazette. (See New South Wales Police Gazette, 1915, page 443.)

Helensbugh (New South Wales). —A warrant has been issued by the Helensburgh Bench for the arrest of William Stanley Gillespie, charged with wife-deser-tion. He is twenty-eight years of age, 5 ft. 9 in. high, thin build, sallow complexion, dark hair, sharp features, cleanshaved, hazel eyes, long nose, short upper lip ; dressed in a grey sac suit, grey soft-felt hat, and tan boots; a coal-miner or labourer; may go to Newcastle or New Zealand. Complainant, Pamela Emily Gillespie, Helensburgh. This notice is subject to instruction No. 13 on page 2 of this Gazette. (See New South Wales Police Gazette , 1915, page 444.)

Brisbane (Queensland).— Bth ultimo. Information is requested, at the instance of Mr. P. J. McDermott, Chief Secretary’s Department, Brisbane, as to the whereabouts of Peter Garland, a ship’s fireman, who arrived at Brisbane on the s.s. “ Otaki,” on the 25fch January last, and is believed to have left Brisbane on that vessel en route to New Zealand, via Sydney, and probably signed off at one of the places mentioned, but no trace of him can be found at the former. If located, a telegraphic communication is to be sent to the Commissioner of Police, Wellington. (See Queensland Police Gazette, 1915, page 534.)
