Auckland.- —19th ultimo, from a taxi-cab, the property of CHARLES STRAND, a light-grey woollen rug, with black and fawn stripes forming squares, small hole in centre, darned with black cotton; value, £1 ss. Identifiable.
Auckland. —On the 12th ultimo the dwelling of WALTER CAMMELL in Victoria Avenue was broken mto, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A round tin money-box, painted red, with the alphabet on it, containing Is. in coppers ; and a pair of nickel pliers: total value, 4s. 9d. Box only identifiable.
Newmarket. —Between the 18th and 27th August last, the Diocesan School in Williamson Street was broken into, and tbe following articles, the property of MISS SLADDON, stolen therefrom: A wooden collection-box, about 6in. by 3 in. by Bin., containing about £6 in silver coin. Box only identifiable.
Waitara. —10th ultimo, from outside Rennie and Co’s, shop, the property of RICHARD SAMPSON, a gentleman’s black-enamelled Argyle bicycle, straight handles with black grips, A 1 Clincher tires ; dent in one mud-guard ; value, £7. Identification doubtful.
Napier.—9th ultimo, from outside the ladies’ waitingroom at the railway-station, the property of MRS. ARCHIBALD CHRISTIE, a lady’s silver-mounted black-leather handbag, envelope shape, white-paint mark on back, containing three railway tickets (Napier to Hastings) and 13s. in cash ; total value, £2 13s. Bag only identifiable.
Wanganui. —24th ultimo, from a bedroom at Pine’s Boardinghouse, Hill Street, the property of JERRY O’CONNELL, Hastings, a gentleman’s 15 ct. gold double watchchain, fetter pattern, with a greenstone pendant about 3 in. long (damaged) attached; and £9 in notes; value, £l2. Identifiable except notes.
Wanganui. —2oth ultimo, from the shop of John Forbes, the property of C. E. HASTIE, a lady’s gold half-hunting watch, chasing partly worn off, dent in front case, “C.E.H.” outside back case; value, £8 10s. Identifiable. Complainant left her watch at Forbes’ shop for repairs, and it was handed over to an unknown man by an assistant who thought him Mrs. Hastie’s husband.
Petone. —On or about the 22nd ultimo JOHN RYAN’S dwelling in King Street was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom: A gentleman’s gold-mounted greenstone double albert, eight by fin. square greenstone bars, with four trace links between each two, with a gold shield medallion, with “ J.R.” on it, and a 9ct. gold fern medal, with “ J. Taylor ” on it, attached ; and a blackhandled Champion razor : total value, £5 10s. Identifiable.
Wellington. —26th August last, from Queen’s Wharf, the property of ERNEST JOHN GREENING, a gentleman’s red-enamelled free wheel bicycle, No. 823, turned-down handles, 26 in. frame, back-pßdalling brake, celluloid mudguards, Oceanic tires ; value, £5. Identifiable.
Wellington.—On or about the 17th ultimo ELLEN THIRKELL’S dwelling was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A lady’s gold open-face keyless Geneva watch, No. 498786; value, £5. Identifiable.
Christchurch.—On or about 10th August last, from outside the Lyttelton Times Office, the property of D. J. GUINNEY, a gentleman’s free-wheel Bell Bros, bicycle, No. 2949, upturned handles with black grips, Michelin tires, springs of saddle broken, Beaton Bros, transfer on frame; value, £l2 10s. Identifiable.
Christchurch.—lßth ultimo, from Chancey Lane, the property of HENRY CEDRIC FENTON, a gentleman’s black-enamelled free-wheel Congreve and Sons bicycle, No. 1085, upturned handles with black grips, 22 in. frame, back-pedalling brake, rubber pedals; value, £3 10s. Identifiable.
Timaru.— lst ultimo, from the Arcade, the property of SEPTIMUS MUNRO, a gentleman’s black - enamelled Massey-Harris bicycle, No. 641202, upturned handles (right grip missing), steel mud-guards ; value, £5. Identifiable.
Timaru.—l3th ultimo, from outside the Westport Coal Company’s office, the property of WILLIAM J. COWLES, a gentleman’s black-enamelled Rover bicycle, No. 530275, very wide handles ; value, £5. Identifiable.
Timaru. —10th ultimo, from under the Washdyke Bridge, the property of SPENCER HEATH, a boy’s black-enamelled bicycle, No. B 83410, with a rat-trap pedal and a rubber pedal; value, £l. Identifiable.
Timaru. —lßth ultimo, from Church Street, the property of MARK SLYVESTER BRACEFIELD, a gentleman’s blackenamelled Royal Club Swift bicycle, Nos. 16604 and 473298 ; value, £ls. identifiable.
