Auckland. —13th instant, that he may be induced to return to his parents, Thomas Gorrie, age sixteen, height 5 ft. 4 in., optician’s apprentice, native of New Zealand, thin build, fresh oomplexion, dark hair, large prominent eyes, decayed teeth ; usually dressed in darkbrown trousers, grey coat, and straw hat or cap. Complainant, Thomas Lennox Gorrie, Tutamoe, Dargaville.
Auckland.—l4ih December last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three days in default of paying £1 6s. fine and costs for committing a grossly indecent act, Charles Anderson, age forty-four, height 5 ft. 9fin., labourer, native of Sweden, strong build, sallow complexion, dark hair turning grey, blue eyes, star on left hand, profusely tattooed on both arms.
Auckland. 26th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to military custody for fourteen days in default of paying £2 3s. 3d. fine and costs for a breach of the Defence Act, Patrick Gunn, age nineteen, height sft. 6Jin., tinsmith, native of New Zealand, slight build, sallow complexion, black hair, grey eves, scar on left wrist and thumb, two scars on each forefinger. Auckland. 30lh June, 1914, that he may be compelled to pay arrears of maintenance due for the support of his daughter, an inmate of the Auckland Industrial School, Robert Blake, age fifty three, height sft. 6in., cook, native of Ireland, fair hair and complexion, full face; stammers when speaking. Auckland.—l2th instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, George Richard Warren, age fortythree, height 6 ft., timber-grader, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, scar on back of left hand. Complainant, Caroline May Warren, 79 Franklin Road.
Auckland.—l3th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, Bernard O’Sullivan, age thirty-seven, height 6 ft. labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, ruddy complexion, curly black hair, blue eyes.
Auckland.—lßth instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his four children, Arthur Percival Potter, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 9 in., canvasser, native of England, slight build, fresh complexion, white hair, blue eyes, heavy eyebrows; usually well dressed in a tweed sporting-suit. Complainant, Amy Barbara Potter, Birkenhead.
Auckland. — David Herron Phillis, failing to maintain : It has been ascertained by the Auckland police that accused left Auckland for Sydney by the s.s. “Riverina” on the stb January last. (See Police Gazette , 1915, page 127.)
Auckland. —l9th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for seven days in default of paying £2 Bs., fine and costs for committing a grossly indecent act, George Harold Mood, age seventy, height 5 ft. in., bush contractor, native of Germany, medium build, fair complexion, grey hair and eyes, mole under right eye, small grey beard.

Pukekohe. —9th ultimo, for failing to comply with the terms of his release upon probation, William Arthur Trevellian Bullock, age twenty, height sft 9|in., labourer, native of Ireland, strong build, fair hair and complexion, grey eyes, tombstone inscribed “ In memory of my Mother” on right forearm, scar on left thumb.
Waihi.— 6th January last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for twenty-one days in default of paying £4 Os. 4d. fine and costs for disorderly behaviour in a railwaycarriage, James Patrick McGuire, alias Maguire, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 7Jin., fisherman, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, long nose, right little finger musing; slouching gait. He may be accompanied by Emma Cargill, referred to in the following paragraphs. (See Police Gazette , 1914, page 771, and Photographs, 1915, page 13.)
Wathi.—lst January last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £1 fine and costs for bringing uniabelled liquor into a nolicense area, Emma Cargill, age about forty-seven, height 5 ft. 5 in., medium build, sallow complexion, brown hair turning grey, small dark-blue eyes. She may be accompanied by two boys, age ten and twelve years respectively, and may be living with James Patrick McGuire, referred to in preceding paragraph. Waihi. —sth September, 1914, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for seven days in default of paying £3 13s. balance of fine and costs for bringing unlabelled liquor into a no-license area, Emma Cargill, age about forty-seven, height 5 ft. 5 in., medium build, sallow complexion, brown hair turning grey, small dark-blue eyes. (See Police Gazette , 1915, page 99, and preceding paragraph.)
Hamilton. —2sth ultimo, on warrant for theft of a tent and fly, a shovel, a frying-pan, a mug, and a can (all recovered) of the total value of £1 13s. 6d., the property of Alexander Grant, Frank Wesley, age about twenty-nine, height about 5 ft. 2 in., labourer, native of Scotland, stout build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, tattooed on both arms. Accused borrowed the articles and afterwards sold them to a Mr. Knowles.
Rotorua. —lßth December, 1914, that a notice of fine and costs for £2 7s. for a breach of the Licensing Act may be served upon him, James Henderson, age forty-six, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, dark complexion, black hair, hazel eyes. (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 126.)
Gisborne. —Bth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for three months in default of paying £l4 2s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Charles Wells, age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 9 in., butcher and skin-dealer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and complexion, about 12 st. weight.
Eltham. —l6th December, 1914, on warrant of commitment to New Plymouth Prison for seven days in default of paying £2 lOu fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, William McElwain, age forty-six, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, hair, f grey eyes; fond of drink; very talkative; slouching gait.
Napier. —l6th instant, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for two months in default of paying, £3O 10s. fine and costs for playing a game of chance in a railwaycarriage, Oliver Burke, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 5 in., salesman and spieler, native of Australia, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, four goldcased teeth in upper jaw,' “ A.G ” and “ W.K.” on right arm, scar on left forearm ; usually dressed in a dark suit and straw hat.
Napier. —l6th instant, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for three months in default of paying £SO 10s. fine and costs for playing a game of ohance in a railwaycarriage, Leslie Euster Gordon Short, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 8 in., showman and spieler, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes, scar on right elbow, lump on right hand ; right arm and leg slightly paralysed ; usually dressed in a darkblue American-cut suit and straw hat; walks with a limp, (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 786.)
Napier. —l6th instant, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for two months in default of paying £3O 10s. fine and costs for nlaying a game of chance in a railwaycarriage, Percy Percival, alias Patrick Lynch, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 9in., wool-classer, pugilist, and spieler, native of Australia, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, broken nose inclined to left, pockmarked, two boil-scars on left forearm ; usually well dressed in brown American-cut suit and a black-and-grey-check cap.
Hawera. —llth ultimo, on warrant for theft of £l, the property of Albert Robert Potter, Frederick Lishmund, age twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 7 in., draper’s assistant, medium build, dark complexion, black hair brushed straight back, brown eyes, scar on right forearm ; speaks with an affected American accent. There are other charges pending.
Dannevirke. —22nd ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, T. H. Cameron, alias Samuel Knight, alias Wright, age fifty-two, height 5 ft. 9fin., labourer, native of England, dark complexion, dark brown hair turning grey, dark-brown eyes. Accused obtained £1 from Alice Phoebe Clark, boardinghouse-keeper, by means of a valueless cheque. (See Police Gazette, 1915, page 137, and Photographs, 1909, page 35.)
Pahiatua. —sth instant, that two notices of arrears of maintenance may be served upon him, James Groves, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. in., labourer, native of England, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, mole on left eyelid, prominent ears, boil-mark on left side of jaw. He may assume the name James Harris. (See Police Gazette, 1910, page 45).
Pahiatua.— On or about the Ist instant, on warrant for theft of £2 13s. Bd., the property of John Harris Ebbett, Mangamaire, Joseph Williams, age about twenty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., factory hand, dark hair, complexion, and eyes; usually well dressed; has false teeth; walks with a slight limp.
Johnsonville.—29th January last, for escaping from Porirua Mental Hospital, Charles Chadwick, age twentythree, height 5 ft. sin., musician, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, burn-sce.r on back of left hand.
Wellington.— 27th ultimo, that he may be induced to communicate with his parents, William David Wells, age fifteen, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair hair and complexion, round pleasant face ; dressed in navy-blue trousers, green sporting-coat, and black-felt hat. Complainant, Louisa Wells, 84 Tinakori Road.
Wellington. —27th ultimo, on warrant for theft of an overcoat (recovered), value £4, the property of James Thomas Annand, John Thomson, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer and flax-mill hand, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion, brown hair, full round face, large hands; usually dressed in grey-check trousers, grey “ Harris ” tweed sporting-coat and cap; fond of drink.
Wellington.—4th ultimo, that a summons may be served upon him for a breach of his prohibition order, Bartholomew Mahoney, age forty - three, height 5 ft. in., labourer and blind maker, native of Ireland, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes ; fond of drink. Wellington. —3oth January last, that a summons may be served upon him for a breach of his prohibition order, William Smith, age about twenty-six, height about sft. 4in., labourer, native of New Zealand, full face; fond of drink.
Wellington. - 19th instant, on warrant for deserting the s.s. •’ Ruahine,” Leonard Edward Knight, age twenty, height sft. lOf in., pantryman, native of England, fresh complexion, brown hair.
Wellington. —l3th instant, on warrant for attempting to leave New Zealand with intent to fail to obey a maintenance order for the support of bis wife, Owen David William Patten, age twenty-seven, height 6 ft., carpenter, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion, curly black hair, brown eyes ; walks with a slight stoop.
Waiuta. —llth December, 1914, on warrant of commitment to Greymouth Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £1 3s. fine and costs for being found on licensed premises during prohibited hours, James Hamilton, age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 6in., labourer and miner, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, lightbrown hair, blue eyes. He is known by the nickname “ Doc.”
Waiuta. —11th December, 1914, on warrant of commitment to Greymouth Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £1 3s. fine and costs for being found on licensed premises during prohibited hours, Charles Ramsay, age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 5 in., labourer and miner, medium build, dark hair and complexion, brown eyes, prominent nose.
Greymouth. —2nd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to military custody for twenty-eight days in default of paying £5 3s. fine and costs for a breach of the Defence Act, Sydney Francis Gibson, age twenty, height 5 ft. 8 m., labourer and seaman, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair, complexion, and eyes.
Otira. —4th instant, on warrant of commitment to Greymouth Prison for six weeks in default of paying £9 2s. 3d. expenses of and incidental to the birth of his illegitimate child, William Mallett, age twenty, height 5 ft. sin., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium active build, dark hair and complexion, grey eyes, birth-mark on right side ; usually well dressed in dark clothes. (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 316.)
Christchurch.— 2Bth ultimo, for indecent assault, Man (name unknown), age about twenty-seven, height about sft. 9in., medium build, fresh complexion, black hair, dark eyes, decayed upper teeth ; dressed in blue-serge suit and dirty brown-felt hat. Accused met Moina Hoben, a girl of the age of twelve years, on the Cashmere Hills, where he is alleged to have committed the offence. He was afterwards joined by a youth named “ Walter,” age seventeen, height about sft. 7 in , ourly black hair; dressed in a blue knickerbocker suit and brown stockings. They had with them a fox-terrier dog with a brown ear and a brown patch on back, and answered to the name of “ Spot.” No warrant.
Timaru. 4th August, 1910, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Prison for three months in default of paying £67 17s. 6d. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, Joseph Foster, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes, right thumb missing. (See Police Gazette, 1915, page 180.)
Oamaru.—2Bth January last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate ohild, Robert McAra, age twentythree, height 5 ft. 10 in., railway clerk, medium build, pale complexion, fair hair, grey eyes, large mouth ; inclined to stoop. See Police Gazette, 1915, page 160.)
Dunedin. —2lst November, 1914, on warrant for wilfully making a false statement when registering the birth of the illegitimate child of Victoria Mare Wehikore Green, James Henry Russell, age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, slight build, fair complexion, brown hair, prominent nose ; usually well dressed in a brown suit. He is supposed to be identical with offender of same name referred to in Police, Gazette, 1914, page 144.
Dunedin. —29th January last, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for forty-eight hours in default of paying 13s. fine and costs for drunkenness, John Miscall, age forty, height 5 ft. 3sjin., labourer and seaman, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, dark hair turning grey, brown eyes.
Dunedin. —6th July, 1914, on warrant of commitment to military custody for seven days in default of paying £1 19s. fine and costs for a breach of the Defence Act, John Ferguson, age seventeen, labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, dark-brown hair, large blue eyes.
Dunedin. —23rd ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his child, Archibald Kitto, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark hair turning grey, blue eyes. (See Police Gazette, 1907, page 126.)
Invercargill. — Ambrose McLean, failing to maintain : It has been ascertained by the Invercargill police that accused left Auckland about four months ago for Sydney. (See Police Gazette, 1915, page 192.)
