INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Melbourne (Victoria). — The following cablegram has been received from the Chief Commissioner of Police, Melbourne : “ Stolen in transmission by post, Melbourne to Perth, or at Melbourne, two packets, each containing one thousand one pound Commonwealth Treasury Notes, numbers T 179001 to 180000, and TIB2OOI to 183000. Many in circulation here. No further particulars available. Please advise banks.” Any information relating to the above stolen notes is to be at once telegraphed to the Commissioner of Police, Wellington.
Melbourne (Victoria). — 25th May last, on warrant for deserting his wife, Joseph Henry Kellow, age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 9 in., sawmill hand, slight build, dark complexion, dark hair, prominent nose, “J.H.K.” on left arm, crucifix on back and several other marks. He will probably be living with Eva Garlich, age about twenty, short, slight build, upper front teeth missing. He was in Wellington about June last, and stayed at No. 8 The Terrace, under the name Gray. His arrest is desired. Complainant, Jane Kellow, 5 Denham Street, Hawthorn, Victoria. (P. 14/1393.)
Melbourne (Victoria).— lnquiry is requested for Albert Charles Upton, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 8 in., clerk or commercial traveller, sallow complexion, dark hair, grey eyes, medium build, inclined to stoop. He is supposed to be in the Dominion, and will probably be accompanied by his two sons: Albert, aged twelve, thin build, large prominent eyes, and Herbert, age ten, stout build, blue eyes, dark-brown hair. If located, information is to be sent to the Commissioner of Police, Wellington. (P. 14/1539.)
