PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. —lsth ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Albert Gwynne, labourer, native of New Zealand, age forty-four, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, fair complexion and hair, grey eyes ; has a beard and moustache. Arrears to 31st July last, £2.

Auckland.—Bth instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months for having failed to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his children, Charles Weldon Garton, refreshment-room keeper, native of New Zealand, age fortyeight, height 5 ft. 10 in., strong build, fresh complexion, fair hair, grey eyes. Arrears to 24th April last, £ll2 14s. (See Police Gazette , 1914, page 136.)

Auckland. gentleman’s bioycle, value £3 (recovered), the property of William Duckworth, F. Conway, supposed clerk, age about thirty-three, medium height and build, brown moustache. Tliß bicycle was stolen from the Public Library, and pawned by a man of the description given.

Auckland. —2sth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months for having failed to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, .Adrian Walton Wilkins, taxi-driver and fisherman, native of New Zealand, age twenty-seven, height sft. 11 in., slim build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes. Arrears to 29th May last, £32 15s.

Te Aeoha. —About 28th February last, that he may be interviewed and a statement obtained from him with reference to the alleged theft of a calf, the property of William Steedman, Francis Mead, bushman, native of New Zealand, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 7 in., strong build, full features, fair complexion and hair. He and John King were seen to drive the calf along the road with a number of others. It was afterwards found in King’s possession. (C.R. 14/14.)

Kawhia. —About 28th ultimo, on warrant for forgery and uttering, J. Johnson, labourer, native of New Zealand, age about forty, height about 5 ft. lljin., medium build, dark tan complexion, dark-brown hair, dark eyes, long features ; usually clean-shaved, but may grow a beard; walks with a stoop; quiet manner. Accused altered a cheque, drawn in his favour and given to him by F. Eshelby, for £5 ss. to £ls 55., and uttered it to the Bank of New Zealand, Kawhia, the bank on which it was drawn.

Te Kuiti. —sth instant, on warrant of commitment to Auokland Prison for one month in default of paying £6 13s. fine and costs for wilful damage, William Cecil Rhodes, alias William Rhodes, saddler and labourer, native of New Zealand, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 9 in., strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, large nose, scar on left side of head; horse-shoe, cap, and whip on left arm. Napier.— 6th July last, on warrant for having withr. twelve months before the presentation of a bankruptcy petition against him, with intent to defraud, left New Zealand and taken with him part of his property to the amount of £2O or upwards that ought by law to be divided amongst his creditors, Leonard George Forster, fruiterer, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., slight build, small features, dark hair, long thin nose, clean-shaved; speak 3 with a drawl; a cigarette-smoker. He has returned to New Zealand.

Hastings.—sth instant, on warrant for forgery and uttering, E. Gordon (name probably fictitious), labourer, supposed native of New Zealand, age about forty-five, height about 5 ft. 9 in., strong build, dark complexion, hair, and moustache ; shabbily dressed. Accused forged the name E. Lockie to a cheque for £lO Bs. 6d., drawn on the Union Bank of Australia, Hastings, in favour of E. Gordon, and uttered it to Maddison and Co.

Wellington.— loth instant, on warrant for failing to provide adequate maintenance for his illegitimate child, Harry Hillham, ship’s steward, native of England, age about twenty-six, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, pale complexion, brown hair, blue eyes. Complainant, Beatrice Holland, 5 Tonks Grove.

Wellington.— 2lst ultimo, on two warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for (1) seven days in default of paying £2 3s. fine and cost for resisting police, and (2) forty-eight hours in default of paying 13s. fine and costs foi drunkenness, Janies McLaughlin, labourer, native of Scotland, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 5 in., good build, fresh complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes; Faith, Hope, and Charity, and clasped hands on right arm ; British coat-of-arms and sailing-ship on left arm.

Wellington. —24th ultimo, on warrant for deserting the s.s. “ Ruapehu,” William Bloomfield, steward, native of England, age twenty-seven, height sft. BJin., medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, dark-brown eyes.

Wellington. —sth instant, on warrant for deserting the s.s. “Eurasia,” Betti Angelo, A. 8., native of Italy, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft., dark complexion and hair.

Wellington.— sth instant, on warrant for deserting the s.s. “Eurasia,” Calvino Giovanne, seaman, native of Italy, age twenty-eigbt, height 5 ft., dark complexion and hair.

Blenheim. —26th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for three montns for having failed to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of bis illegitimate child, Percy Collier, labourer, native of Australia, age twenty-nine, height sft. Sin., fresh complexion, dark hair, grey eyes, scar on left ring-finger. Arrears to 15th June, 1913, £29 Is. (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 532.)

Christchurch.— 27th January last, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Prison for three months for having failed to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, William Hamilton F. Gibson, baker and cook, native of Australia, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. BJin., slim build, fresh complexion, sandy hair, grey eyes, scar on right side of head and on right arm. Christchurch. —15th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Prison for twenty-four hours in default of paying Bs. fine and costs for drunkenness, Robert Henderson, labourer, native of Scotland, age forty seven, height 5 ft. 2in., medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair, grey eyes.

Christchurch.— 4th instant, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Prison for three months for having failed to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for ihe support of his wife, John Hayes, labourer, native of New

Christchurch. —25th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 Os. 6d., expenses incurred for medical treatment while on remand for helpless drunkenness, Alexander McLeod, labourer, native of Australia, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. 6 in., strong build, pale oomplexion, dark hair, grey eyes, soar on throat.

Christchurch. —9th instant, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £1 10s. fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, George Newman, alias Howard, labourer, native of England, age forty-seven, height 5 ft. 6|in., medium build, fresh complexion, grey hair and eyes. Woolston. —2sth ultimo, that she may be looated, Elsie King, native of New Zealand, age fourteen, height about 5 ft., stout built, dark rosy complexion, dark-brown hair ; wearing a brown dress and brown-velvet hat. She may have a dress-basket with her. Inquiry by her father, Thomas King, 53 Smith’s Road, who intends to have her placed in a home.

Timaru.—29th ultimo, on warrant for failing to provide adequate maintenance for his illegitimate child, an inmate of Christchurch Receiving Home, Donald McKay, drover and shepherd, native of New Zealand, age twentyfour, height 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, fair complexion and hair, olean-shaved, artificial upper teeth, left side slightly paralysed. Dunedin. —13st July last, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 10s. fine and coats for a breach of his prohibition order, Michael John Sheehan, foundry hand and labourer, native of New Zealand, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. lljin., strong build, tan complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, cleanshaved ; dirty appearance; fond of drink. Dunedin. —25th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for three days in default of paying £1 3s. fine and costs for drunkenness, Richard Walsh, labourer, native of New Zealand, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. 2Jin., strong build, fresh complexion; brown hair, grey eyes ; fond of drink.

Milton. —10th instant, that he may be induced to contribute towards the maintenance of his mother, James Lockhart, labourer, native of New Zealand, age twentyeight, height about 6ft., slim build, fair complexion, fair hair, blue eyes; quiet manner. Inquiry is at the instance of Isabella Lockhart, Fairfax Road.

Kirrigan, breach of the Licensing Act, after having been summoned by the defendant so to do, Herbert Robinson or Robertson, fisherman, age about twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, dark oomplexion and hair, clean-shaved, large mouth; fond of drink ; profusely tattooed ; dirty appearance.
