Arrears to 31st July last, £2.

Auckland.—Bth instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months for having failed to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his children, Charles Weldon Garton, refreshment-room keeper, native of New Zealand, age fortyeight, height 5 ft. 10 in., strong build, fresh complexion, fair hair, grey eyes. Te Aeoha. —About 28th February last, that he may be interviewed and a statement obtained from him with reference to the alleged theft of a calf, the property of William Steedman, Francis Mead, bushman, native of New Zealand, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 7 in., strong build, full features, fair complexion and hair. Accused altered a cheque, drawn in his favour and given to him by F. Eshelby, for £5 ss. to £ls 55., and uttered it to the Bank of New Zealand, Kawhia, the bank on which it was drawn.

Te Kuiti. —sth instant, on warrant of commitment to Auokland Prison for one month in default of paying £6 13s. fine and costs for wilful damage, William Cecil Rhodes, alias William Rhodes, saddler and labourer, native of New Zealand, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 9 in., strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, large nose, scar on left side of head; horse-shoe, cap, and whip on left arm. Napier.— 6th July last, on warrant for having withr. twelve months before the presentation of a bankruptcy petition against him, with intent to defraud, left New Zealand and taken with him part of his property to the amount of £2O or upwards that ought by law to be divided amongst his creditors, Leonard George Forster, fruiterer, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., slight build, small features, dark hair, long thin nose, clean-shaved; speak 3 with a drawl; a cigarette-smoker. He has returned to New Zealand.

Hastings.—sth instant, on warrant for forgery and uttering, E. Gordon (name probably fictitious), labourer, supposed native of New Zealand, age about forty-five, height about 5 ft. 9 in., strong build, dark complexion, hair, and moustache ; shabbily dressed. Accused forged the name E. Lockie to a cheque for £lO Bs. 6d., drawn on the Union Bank of Australia, Hastings, in favour of E. Gordon, and uttered it to Maddison and Co.

Wellington.— loth instant, on warrant for failing to provide adequate maintenance for his illegitimate child, Harry Hillham, ship’s steward, native of England, age about twenty-six, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, pale complexion, brown hair, blue eyes. Complainant, Beatrice Holland, 5 Tonks Grove.

Wellington.— 2lst ultimo, on two warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for (1) seven days in default of paying £2 3s. fine and cost for resisting police, and (2) forty-eight hours in default of paying 13s. fine and costs foi drunkenness, Janies McLaughlin, labourer, native of Scotland, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 5 in., good build, fresh complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes; Faith, Hope, and Charity, and clasped hands on right arm ; British coat-of-arms and sailing-ship on left arm.
