Maungaturoto.—2oth November last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for ten days in default of paying £2 ss. fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, William Thomas Jackson, alias Stonewall Jackson, age forty-three, height 5 ft. sJin., labourer, native of New Zealand, sandy complexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, large nose. Auckland. —7th January last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £3 Bs. 6d. balance of fine arid costs for assault, Thomas Kennedy, age forty-four, height 5 ft, miner, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair turning grey, dark-blue eyes, left arm dislocated at elbow, “A. T.” tattooed on right forearm. (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 59.)
Auckland. —Bth instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his children, Frank Arthur Bingley, age thirty-eight, height sft. 9 in., carpenter, native of England, medium build, fair hair and moustache, brown eyes, long scar on palm of right hand, large lump on right thumb ; wears a three-stone diamond ring on right little finger. Relatives reside at Westport. Complainant, Edith L. Bingley, care of Children’s Home, Remuera. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 439.)
Auckland. —23rd January last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £ll 2s. costs for discharging firearms, William McCloud, age forty-one, height 5 fb. 9 in., showman, native of America, medium build, dark complexion, long black hair, hazel eyes, long dark moustache, American accent; dressed in darktweed suit, slouch hat; generally visits race meetings and shows.
Auckland.—7th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for twenty-four hours in default of paying 15s. 6d. fine and costs for drunkenness, George Roberts, age fifty, height sft. 9in., platelayer, native of England, stout build, brown complexion, grey hair, hazel eyes, woman’s bust on chest.
Auckland. —19th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his children, George Cullum, age forty-eight, height 5 ft. 8 in., driver, native of New Zealand, stout build, fair complexion, fair moustache, grey eyes; addicted to drink; frequents race meetings. Complainant, Mrs. Cullum, 12 Vine Street, Ponsonhy.
Auckland. —9th December last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for two days in default of paying 10s. balance of costs for drunkenness, Charles Frederick Osterman, age forty-one, height sfd. 8 in., labourer, native of Denmark, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes.
Frankton Junction. —2nd instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his illegitimate child, Patrick Roach, age thirty, height 5 ft. 5 in., driver and baker’s assistant, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes; dressed in dark suit and straw or hard bat. Complainant, Francis Gwinne, Frankton Junction.
Rotorua. —sth February last, on warrant for failing to comply with an order of Court for the maintenance of his illegitimate chfid, Arthur Albert John Calon, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. lOJin., porter and labourer, native of Australia, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, false teeth, left arm has been broken ; female bust supposed tattooed on one arm above elbow. Hastings. —29th February last, that a summons may be served on him for a breach of the Defence Act, Robert Adair, age twenty-three, height sft. 6 in., plumber, native of New Zealand, dark hair and complexion, brown eyes; usually dresses in a dark suit; an amateur boxer.
Dannevirke. —19th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Palmerston North Police-gaol for four days in default of paying 12s. 6d. fine and costs for cycling without a light, George Wigert, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, supposed native of New Zealand, strong build, fair hair and complexion ; fluent talker ; profusely tattooed on arms.
Palmerston North. —12th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Alfred Smith, age thirtyfive, height 5 ft. 4 in., cook and labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, very thin features ; walks lame on right leg. Complainant, Lily Smith, Palmerston North.
Masterton. —29th ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, L. G. Burton, age about twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 10 in., supposed motor engineer, fair oomplexion curly hair, blue eyes, slight build; dressed in grey Norfolk suit, tan leggings, and soft-felt hat. Accused obtained £3 Is. from Katie Neilson, boardinghouse-keeper, by means of a valueless cheque on the Bank of New South Wales, Ashburton.
Wellington.—4th instant, on warrant for absconding from bail, Thomas Sheehan or Sheahan, age twentysix, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of Ireland, medium build, dark-brown hair, clean-shaven; dressed in dark grey suit, soft shirt, and soft black hat; well educated ; addicted to drink; a prohibited person. Accused was committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter.
Wellington. —6th February last, that she may be compelled to maintain her child in the Christchurch Receiving Home, Mabel Grace Pauling, age thirty-eight, height about 5 ft. 6 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, fair hair and complexion, blus eyes ; usually dressed in dark clothes. She was supposed to be living with a man named Roby some time ago. (See Police Gazette, 1910, page 516.)
Wellington.— 23rd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for one month in default of paying £1 10s. fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, Bernard Kromen, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 7in., seaman and labourer, native of Russia, strong build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, first joint of right middle finger missing, anchor on left arm. (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 131.)
Wellington. —l6th January last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife and child, Alfred Hoy, alias O’Neill, age thirty, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer and fireman, native of New Zealand, thick-set, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, crucifix and claspsd hands on left arm, false teeth, slightly lame. Complainant, Kathleen Hoy, 58 Lower Cuba Street, Wellington. (See Police Gazette, 1913, page 556.)
Wellington. —6th instant, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “Kaikoura,” Tim McCarthy, age thirtythree, height 5 ft. 8 in., fireman, native of England, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, dark moustache, heavy face ; about 14 st. weight.
Wellington. —Since 10th January last, that he may be interviewed regarding his whereabouts on the 21st January last, John Northey Sabin, age twenty-one, height about 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, tanned complexion, clean-shaven, light-brown hair. He came to Wellington as a special constable during the recent “ strike ” from Takapau, Hawke’s Bay. Thomas Frederick Everest, at present awaiting trial on a charge of breaking, entering, and theft from George Reid’s house in Webb Street, used Sabin’s name when disposing of the stolen property.
Wellington. —7th instant, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “Victoria,” Herbert Lawton, age thirtyfive, height sft. sin., seaman, native of England, fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes; several female figures and snake on left forearm; girl, tombstone, and flag on right forearm.
Nelson, —28th October last, on warrant for failing to maintain his illegitimate child, John Coughlan, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, grey eyes. He may attempt to leave the Dominion. Complainant, Lucy Blissett, Glenhope.
Blenheim.— 4th February last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for four months in default of paying £67, arrears due for the maintenance of his children, Horace William Roberts, age forty-four, height 5 ft. 8f in., labourer, native of New Zealand, dark complexion, dark-brown hair and eyes, medium build, right middle finger contracted, large scar at base of left thumb and on right cheek. Complainant, Sophia Roberts, domestic, Blenheim. (See Police Gazette, 1913, page 510.)
Waiuta. —Bth February last, on warrant of commitment to Greymouth Prison for one month in default of paying £3 3s. fine and costs for insulting language, John Whelan, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. 8 in., miner, native of Ireland, strong build, sallow complexion, brown hair, dark eyes; very talkative. He may havß gone to Sydney. (See Police Gazette, 1913, page 620.)
Rangiora. to Lyttelton Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 7s. fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, Gabriel Hadling, age sixty-five, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, stout build, fresh oomplexion, grey hair, blue eyes ; dressed in grey suit and light soft hat.
Christchurch. —That he may be compelled to support his child, an inmate of the Wellington Receiving Home, John Lackland, age forty-six, height sft. 6jin., painter and labourer, native of England, fair hair, blue eyes, limps on one leg ; frequently attends Salvation Army meetings.
Ashburton. 3rd instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his illegitimate child, Edward Wilson, age nineteen, height 4 ft. 9in. or 10 in., jookey, native of New Zealand, slim build, dark complexion, dark curly hair, very bow-legged. Complainant, Renah Mahoney, West Belt, Allenton, Ashburton.
