Native of Chard, Dorsetshire, England, age about fifty-four, height about 5 ft. 9 in., farmer, medium build, fair complexion, light brown hair turning grey, blue eyes, reddish moustache and side whiskers, conspicuous scar extending from right corner of mouth to right side of chin, peculiar walk, one foot turned out; quiet disposition.

On 14th ultimo, at Inglewood, accused murdered Edward Julian, Gladys Eva Julian, and Frank Smith, and set fire to the house in which the crime was committed. (See Police Gazette, 1913, page 501.)

Although taken about ten years ago the above photograph is said to be a very good likeness of him at the time of the commission of the crimes for which he is wanted. (P. 13/1530.)
