Auckland. —Between 6th ultimo and 13th instant, from a mail-bag while in transit from Birmingham, England, to Auckland, the property of the POSTMASTER-GENERAL, three dozen 9ct. gold brooch pendants, set with pearls ; six pair 9ot. gold earrings; twelve 9 ct. gold brooches; twenty-four crescent brooches, set with red, blue, and green stones; thirty-six five-stone cross-over 18 ct.-gold ring mounts (num bered inside from 3738 to 3773); forty-eight London Bridge half-hoop ring mounts, 18 ct. gold (marked inside “ C. BRANCKHAM, Main Street, was broken into, and the following artioles stolen: A new double-barrelled breeoh - loading gun, “ Globe Co.” engraved on barrels, “ Oyex Arms Cj.” engraved on locks, 12-bore, left ba»rel choked ; and a quantity of mixed tobacco : total value, £6 10s. Suspicion is attached to Edward Kenny, a labourer and fisherman, and a resident of Picton, who is equipping a motor-launch for fishing purposes, and who may have the stolen articles hidden in some part of the Sounds.
