MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION.
Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, 25th April, 1913. Memorandum for the Commissioner of Police. I have the honour, by direction of the Minister of Internal Affairs, to enolose herewith a copy of the Gazette containing notifications respecting the shooting season this year. lam also directed to call your attention to the provisions in the notifications restricting the number of native game that may be killed by any one person in any one day to twenty-five head in all, also restricting the number of pheasants that may be killed by any one person in any one day to twelve. It has been decided that neither native pigeon nor paradise duck will be allowed to be shot in any district this season, and I am directed to ask you to be good enough to specially instruct police officers throughout the Dominion to see that the law is observed in respect of those birds. As at present advised there will be no open season in the Canterbury, Lake, Inangahua, and Tauranga Acclimatization Disfcricts - J. Hislop.
