PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland.— 4th instant, that a summons may be served on her for theft of household effects, value £2, Evelyn Arnold (name probably fictitious), age twenty-two, height about 5 ft. 6 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, dark hair, brown eyes; dresses stylishly. Stated that she expected to be confined about the 28th September last, and was last heard of about that date at No. 5 Cobden Street, Newton, Auckland.

Opotiki. —9th ultimo, on warrant for failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, John Elkin Walker, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 8 in., farm hand, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, darkbrown hair, brown eyes, small face; dressed in dark-green suit and dark felt hat with light band. He is supposed to have gone to Rotorua or G-isborne. Complainant, Matewai Rameha, Opotiki.

Thames. —29th ultimo, on warrant for failing to provide his wife, Nellie Lane, and child with adequate means of support, Arthur Henry Lane, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 7Jin , pianist and battery hand, medium build, pale complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, scar on forehead over right eye, one tooth on each side of upper jaw goldfilled. In 1911 he was at Paeroa travelling with Carroll’s Dramatic Company as pianist.

Wairoa. —27th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for four months in default of paying £3 arrears due for the maintenance of his illegitimate child, Robert John Hughes, age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 4 in., busnman and labourer, native of Australia, full round face, blue eyes, fair complexion, fair curly hair, parted in centre, clean-shaved, stiff build; dresses well and usually wears a dark suit. Napier. —sth instant, on warrant for deserting his wife, Elizabeth McCausland, at Clareville, George McCausland, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, very broad shoulders, short neck, very sallow complexion, black hair turning grey, black moustache, may be clean-shaved, daik-grey eyes, bowlegged ; dressed in brown suit and cap or hard hat. In September last he wrote from Kaipara, saying that he was sailing from there in a scow for Sydney,

Martinborough. —2nd instant, that a summons may be served on him for the support of his wife, Henry Dawson Collins, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 8 in., clerk and snepherd, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, dark eyes and hair, bright smart appearance. Was last seen in Auckland in Deoember, 1911.

Petone. —sth instant, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 ss. arrears due for the maintenance of his father, Albert Bell Shelbourne, age thirty, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, blue eyes, large nose, clean-shaved except light-brown moustache, scar over left eye, sinews of right hand contracted, cast in one eye. He is supposed to have gone to Palmerston North to look for work at a flax-mill.

Wellington. —24th January last, on warrant for assaulting Kong Yow, market-gardener, Lower Hutt, Jack Curry, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 7in., labourer, medium build, clean shaved ; dressed in dark suit and cap. He is supposed to have gone to the Marlborough District, and may obtain work in a shearing-shed.

Wellington. —2lst October last, on warrant for disobeying an order of Court to pay 7s. 6d. a week towards the maintenance of his illegitimate child, William Haining, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. 10in., driver, native of New Zealand, fair complexion, blue eyes, stout build, prominent teeth. On the above date he was in arrears £4 10s.

Oxford. —sth instant, that she may be induced to contribute towards the support of her brothers and sisters in the Christchurch Receiving Home, Rose Osborne, age eighteen, height 5 ft., domestic servant, fair complexion, brown hair, blue or grey eyes, thin features, high cheekbones. Inquiry at the instance of the Education Department.

Christchurch. —27th ultimo, on warrant for obtaining £3 10s. from Frederick Kars by false pretences, Augustus Coleman, age forty-five to fifty, height about 6 ft., hawker of shoddy, stout build, corpulent, fair complexion, hair turning grey, clean-shaved; is supposed to have come to Wellington on the above date. Offender obtained the money from complainant by falsely representing that the suit material would be made up without further cost by Hobbs and Hobbs

Coalgate. —Bth ultimo, on warrant for theft of four bottles of whisky, the property of Charles Gladstone Wallace, hotelkeeper, Hororata, John Walsh, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 3 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair, dark moustache, dissipated appearance ; dressed in blue suit and cap and light pointed-toed boots. Offender and a man named Frederick Pimm, who was conjointly charged with the above offender, were drinking in the bar when the whisky disappeared. Pimm has been arrested, and remanded.

Ashburton. —On or about the Bth October last, on warrant for false pretences, A. V. Buckton, alias Kent, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 8 in. or 9 in., supposed labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, clean-shaved, darkbrown complexion, dark eyes, sharp features. He may be wearing a fawn suit, a beaver hat, and fancy grey sweater. Offender obtained shirts, hat, tennis shoes, pants, braces, cap, trousers, Norfolk coat, handkerchiefs, kit-bag, collars, boots, brief-bag, rug, pyjama suit, &c., value £l2 9s. 7d.,' by falsely representing that he was working for J. R. Simp son, Lismore, who had given him authority to purchase the above articles. A charge of theft is also pending against him.

Timaru.—3rd instant, on a Bench warrant, issued by His Honour Mr. Justice Denniston, for failing to apDear on bail at the Supreme Court, Timaru, on four charges of false pretences, George McLeod, or McCloud, age thirtyeight, height 5 ft. 9 in., canvasser, supposed native of South Africa, sallow complexion, medium build, dark-brown eyes, black hair, short-cropped black beard and moustache, good address, but indifferently educated. He may be accompanied by his wife, age about twenty-eight, height about 5 ft. 5 in., slight build, fair reddish hair and fair complexion.

Dunedin. —9th ultimo, on warrant for theft of £5 18s., the money of the New Zealand Government, Charles B. Jarman, age thirty - six (looks thirty), height about 5 ft. 6 in., clerk, native of Tasmania, medium build, fair complexion and hair, partly bald, chan-shaved, narrow chin, small hooked nose; usually wears dark suit and hat, dark overcoat with silk facings, and a shark’s-tooth pendant on rolled gold watch-chain. Offender was clerk in the local Government Shipping-office, and received the above amount from the Union Steamship Company and failed to account for the same to the Superintendent of Mercantile Marine, Dunedin. He will probably attempt to leave the Dominion!

Dunedin. —6th instant, that summonses may be served on them for selling liquor without a license, F. M. Anglin, representing the firm of Orme, Kegwin, and Co., Sydney’, age, about forty, height 5 ft. 8 in. or 9 in., traveller, strong build, dark-brown ha r, dark-brown moustache only, smart appearance. They are now avoiding Dunedin district, but may be taking orders in other parts of the Dominion.
