Auckland.— l7th ultimo, from the Thames Fish-saloon, Grey Street, the property of CHARLES DAVIDSON, a gentleman’s dark-grey mackintosh with faint-green double stripe running through it, a piece has been cut off and the bottom newly hemmed ; value, £1 9s. Identifiable.
Auckland.— l6th April last, from the new Perry Buildings, Queen Street Wharf, the property of LIONEL SHAW, a gentlemen’s nickel-plated open-faced watch, with gold hands ; value, £1 ss. Identifiable.
Auckland. —Between Bth and 10th instant, from the s.s. “ Aupouri,” the property of HARRY CAMPBELL LYES, steward, a gentlemen’s silver hunting keyless Waltham watch, No. 16306644 on the works; a gentlemen’s double silver curb-pattern chain (see Illustration No. 24, Police Gazette), a small plain silver octogon-shaped locket attached : total value, £4 17s. 6d. Watch only identifiable.
Auckland. —Between the sth and Bth instant, from the scow “Combine,” the property of BRYANT ELSMORE, master mariner, a pair of field-glasses, mounted in black leather, scratch on focus wheel, “ John Burns & Co., Liverpool,” inside ; value, £3. Identifiable.
Auckland.— DOßlS ROWE PUGH’S watch stolen: It has been ascertained that the number of the watch stolen is 69979, and not 69978 as previously reported. (See Police Gazette, 1912, page 365.)
Northcote (Auckland).— Bth instant, from the bedroom of GERALD FITZGERALD, labourer, Union Steam Ship Company, a gentlemen’s light-green waterproof mackintosh, lined inside with plaid, value £2 10s.; a Waterbury openfaced keyless watch, “ G. P. F.” scratched on inside of back case, number unknown, value 15s. Identifiable. Suspicion
attached to Leonard Clark, age about nineteen, height 5 ft. 6 in. or 7 in., carpenter, native of Victoria, medium build, fair complexion, clean-shaved, top teeth false and show prominently when he laughs ; dressed in greenish-coloured worsted suit, light-felt hat, and patent-leather shoes. His correct name is supposed to be Dick Jones, but he may also assume the name of Leonard Montroy.
Hamilton. PERCIVAL DALRYMPLE NEILL’S bicycle and other property stolen : It has been ascertained that the number on stolen bicycle is 2550. (See Police Gazette, 1912, page 339.)
Thames.—Between 26th and 28th ultimo the dwelling of ERNEST HOWE was broken into and the following stolen : Two £1 notes and 2s. lOd. in silver and coppers, a goldmounted quartz pendant about 2£ in. long (a piece of white quartz showing at bottom of pendant) ; value, about £2.
Hawera.—Between the 27th ultimo and Ist instant the dwelling of WALTER JAMES BRIGHT, dentist, was broken into and the following stolen: A green-coloured rough-tweed suit, size 5, “ Morrison and Penny ” on tab of coat, a small tear (which has been darned) on knee of trousers ; a pair of gentlemen’s glace-kid boots, size 7 ; a brown-woollen rug, check on one side and a slate-coloured check on the other : total value, £6.
Wellington.—3rd ultimo, from SAMUEL GOOD, while under the influence of liquor, a gentlemen’s silver hunting Rotherham lever watch, No. 161770, value £6 6s. ; a gentlemen’s rolled-gold twisted-fetter chain, value 10s. Identifiable.
Wellington.—4th ultimo, from Customhouse Quay, the property of the NEW ZEALAND AND COLONIAL CARRYING COMPANY, a gentlemen’s Wentworth bicycle, No. 7424, B.S.A. parts, black-enamelled 24 in. frame, roller chain, rat-trap pedals, steel rims, Brooks saddle ; value, £5. Identifiable.
Westport.—Bth ultimo, from outside the Westport Rail-way-Station, the property of PERCY AITKEN, shopman, a gentlemen’s Raleigh bicycle, No. 232357 on frame below the saddle, “ E. R. Roskruge ” scratched on saddle-flaps; value, £lO. Identifiable.
Christchurch.— 4th instant, from a right-of-way off Montreal Street, the property of WILLIAM MORGAN, confectioner, a gentlemen’s B.S.A. bicycle, No. 4478, “ Speedy ” transfer, black-enamelled frame, steel rims and pedals, free wheel, front-rim brake, no grips ; value, £5. Identifiable.
Lyttelton.—6th instant, from the Albion Hotel, the property of JAMES GARNER, labourer, a double-barrelled breech-loading gun, “Symonds Rabbit-gun” on barrels, meial plate screwed on grip where it has been broken, small piece chipped off stock ; value, £2 10s. Identifiable.
Timaru. —13th ultimo, from the hold of the s.s. “ Ruapehu,” the property of ELLIS MILLS, wharf labourer, a gentlemen’s dark-grey oilskin coat, very soft silk-like material, elastic bands inside the sleeves ; value, £l. Identifiable.
