Auckland —6th ultimo, or warrant for deserting from the s.p. “Oraii,” C. Stewart, alias Williams, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 5 in., s> aman and vaudeville artist, native of England, thick s t build, fair complexion, cleanshaved, may now have a moustache ; smart appearance; well dressed. He left the ship on the above date, taking his kit which includes dancing-clogs and stage-dress.

Auckland. —31st May last, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “ Pakeha,” J. Moore, alias Wells, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 10in., seaman, native of Eugland, medium build, fair hair, fiesh complexion, grey eyes, cleanshaved ; dressed in blue-ssrge suit.

Auckland.- 24th May last, on warrant for failing to provide his wife with adequate means of support, Frederick Olaffsen, age fifty, height 5 ft. 3 in., labourer and mill hand, native of Sweden, speaks with Swedish accent, strong build, fair hair and moustache, hair turning grey, blue eyes, slightly round-shouldered. Pie wrote from Sydney on the 30th May last, saving he was going to England from Melbouino and would be away two years.

Auckland. —26th ultimo, that he mav be compelled to provide for the maintenance of his wife, John Hamilton, ego seventy, height sft. 11 in., farmer, native of Inland, strong build, slightly stooped, grey hair (bald on top), grey trimmed beard, marks on left leg; usually wears giey sac suit and brown-felt hat. He was last heard of atEast Tamaki about three years ago.

Auckland. —22nd May last, on warrant for failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Herbert R. Macklin, ago twenty-two, height 5 ft. 7 in., carpenter, supposed native of New Zealand, medium build, fair curly hair, clean-shaved but occasionally wears a false mousache, considerable amount of tattoo-marks on legs and arms. Complainant, Ida Lilian Mortensen. Offender is now supposed to be living with bis wife in Mitchell Street, St. Leonard’s, Sydney.

Auckland. —2lst May last, on warrant for disobeying an order of Court for the maintenance of his illegitimate child, William Gavin, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 7 in., stableman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair hair and C'implexion, hair inclined to curl, one tooth out in front, has a steel plate supporting left shoulder. Auckland. 24th ultimo, that a summons may be served on her for the support of her children in the industrial school, Catherine Doughty, age twenty-nine, height about 5 ft. 7 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark eyes and complexion, good-looking, false a piece of gold let into one front tooth. She worked some time ago at the Thi-tle Hotel, Auckland, under the name of Kitty Watson. On the 2Gth February last she was in arrears £5 14s.

Auckland, —17th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £6 17s. fine and costs for insulting behaviour, Robert Bennett, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. lin.. labourer and ex tram conductor, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eves, sharp features, pointed nose ; usually wears blue suit and black hard hat; fond of drink.

Auckland. —4th May last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for seven days in default of paying £3 4s 6d. for a breach of the Tramway Company’s By-laws, John Darnbush, age about forty-eight, height 5 ft. 6£in., cleik, native of Ei gland, medium build, ruddy complexion, dark-brown hair, brown moustaohe, prominent forehead; dressed in black sac suit and black hard hat.

Gisborne.— 13th May last, on warrant for obtaining £8 Is. from Samuel Earle, tobacconist, by false pretences, Oscar M. Hawson, age about forty, height 5 fc. 9 in., accountant and clerk, native of England, medium build, dark hair and moustache, brown eves, sharp features, prominent, nose, slightly bald; dressed in dark tweed suit and black hard hat. He represented that he had an account at the Bank of Australasia, Hawera, and gave complainant a valueless cheque on the hank for the above amount. (See Police Gazette, 1912, pages 269 and 349.)

Napier.—l3th April last, that a notice of fine of £4 14s. may be sprved on him for a breach of the Defence Act, John William O’Connell, age twenty, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native of Tasmania, thin build, slightly round shoulders, clean-shaved, has sure lips, scar on shin, “ True Love” and lifebuoy on right forearm, very flat-footed, grey eyes, pale comp txion, “J.O’C.” on left forearm; dressed in green-coloured suit and green-felt hat, soft shirt, and tan boots. Was last heard of in Gisborne on above date.

MARTON.~-9th May last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for fourteen days in defa.ult of pacing £2 14s. fine and costs for using insulting language to a railway official, Dr. Rowe, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 9 in., theatrical, native of Australia, fresh complexion, long dark hair, blue eyes, full fat face, medium build ; dresses neatly in dark-blue suit and straw hat. He was touring with a small theatrical company, and is said to have recently left Wellington for Sydney.

Petone. —2Bth ultimo, that he may be compelled to pay £2 4s. a'rears due for the maintenance of Iris Gilkes, an inmate of the Wellington Receiving Home, Robert Gilkes, age forty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., butcher, slignt build, thin pale features, brown hair, clean-shaved. He was employed on the s.s. “ Manuka.”

Mount Cook (Wellington.) —2ith May last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for twenty-one days in default of paying £4 165., fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, James Skilling, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., carter, native of Lew Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, scar on nose, bald on top of head. Greymouth.—2lsb May last, that a summons may be served on him for travelling on the train without paying his fare, David Watson (name probably fictitious), age about forty, height about 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, supposed labourer, fair complexion and hair, clean-shaved except fair moustache.

Lyttelton. —loth April last, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Prison for twenty-four hours in default of paving 8-. fine and costs for drunkenness, Henry Charles (known as Tom Pepper), age forty-eignt, height 5 ft. 2 in., seaman, native of England, slight build, fair complexion, grey eyes, clean-shaved ; usually wears a grev-tweed coat and vest and blue-dungaree trousers. He paid 13s. medical expenses, leaving the above amount still due.

Christchurch. —6th ultimo, on warrant for failing to provide for the maintenance of bis illegitimate child, Stephen John Kinsey, age about tnirty-o e, under 5 ft. high, hawker, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion and hair, blue eyes ; clean-shaved, usually w ars dark-twe-d suit. His relatives reside at Papanui, Christchuich. Complainant, Jane McAdam, Sydenham, Chr.sfcchurcb.

Christchurch. —26th ultimo, on warrant for disobeying an onier of Court for the ma nteuai.ee of his wife, George Callaghan, age forty-six, height sft. 8 in. or 9 in., siiepnera, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion, auburn hair, dark eyes, first finger of rigs t band useless and bent towards the palm, sear on forehead. He is supposed to have gone to Papuni, Wairoa, and has friends at Cardrona, Otago. On the 20th ultimo he was in arrears £l7 10s.

Christchurch. —22nd ultimo, for escaping from Sunnyside Mental Hospual, Ronald Gilbert, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of Jasmania, medium build, fair complexion, dark-brown hair, sharp features, larrikin appearance, turns out his feet when walking, weak face, imbecile appearance; dressed in dark-grey suit and cap. He came to New Zealand as a stowaway from Tasmania, having escaped from an institution there.

Christchurch. —3oth April last, on warrant for theft of £lO, the property of the New Zealand Egg Essence Company, Christchurch, George Runels Fulyerd, age thirty - three, height 5 ft. 9 in., about lz£ stone weight, engineer and commercial traveller, native of England, eark complexion, clean-shaved, has a peculiar tw tch about his mouth when talking; dressed in dark-brown worsted suit (rather tight-fitting), and cap or hard-felt hat. Offender was travelling for the above company, and received £lO from Messrs. Griffin and Smith which he was not authorized to do. On the 2nd ultimo be also obtained £lO from Ellis and

Newton, Stout Street, Wellington, and is supposed to have left for Sydney on the 3rd ultimo. (See Police Gazette , 1912, page 306, where name was given as George Renold Fulyard, and age as twenty-eight.) He is also wanted for wife-desertion. See following paragraph.

Christchurch. —3rd ultimo, on warrant for deser'ing his wife, Leah Fulyerd, at Christchurch, George Runels Fulyerd. For description see preceding paragraph. Extradition expenses guaranteed from any of the Australian States. He is said to have gone to Sydney on the 3rd ultimo under the name of Love. (See Police Gazette, 1912, page 306.)

Timaru. —29th ultimo, that he may be compelled to pay £2l 7s. 6d. arreats due for the maintenance of his illegitimate child, Basil Emslie, age about th rty, height about 5 ft. 4 in., hairdresser, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair turning grey, hair cut very short, cleanshaved, round full face, fresh complexion ; dresses neatly in dark clo.hes and black bard hat. He attends sports meetings. Inquiry at the instance of the Education Department.

Temuka. —2Bfch May last, on warrant of commitment to Timaru Gaol for one month in default, of paying £5 13s. fine and costs for procuring liquor for a prohibited person, John Cameron, age about fifty-six, height about 5 ft. 8 in. or 9in., lab urer, native of Scotland, medium built, grey hair and beard (trimmed), erect carriage; dressed in grey coat and vest, brown-moleskin trousers, and round felt hat; fond of drink ; quiet disposition.
