PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. —29th November last, on warrant for theft of an overcoat, a brief-bag, a pair of black cloth trousers, two shoe-brushes, and a tin of tan polish, the property of Charles Dyer, value £4 10s., J. Neil, age about fifty-four, height about 5 ft. in., swarthy complexion, dark-brown hair, clean-shaved except small fair moustaohe ; dressed in light suit. Supposed identical with John Wall, alias Carson, alias Maher, alias Heron. (See Photographs of Discharged Prisoners, Police Gazette, 1910, page 56.) The above property was stolen from complainant’s bedroom in the Waitemata Hotel. The overcoat and brief-bag were recovered at a second-hand shop, where they had been sold by a man who gave the name of J. Neil.

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland.) —12th instant, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “ Otaki,” E. Avery, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., trimmer, native of Australia, stout build, dark hair and complexion, clean-shaved except heavy dark moustache, dark-brown eyes; dressed in brown suit and cap. He is supposed to have come to Wellington, where his brother is a well-known footballer.

Gisborne. —lsth ultimo, on warrant for failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Roy Daulton, age twenty, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and complexion, brown eyes, clean-shaved ; generally wears grey-coloured suit and black hard-felt hat. He resided with his parents at Te Aral, and was last heard of in Wellington during the New Year holidays.

Hastings. —l2th instant, that a distress warrant may be executed on him for £l 4s. 4d., costs of Court, Alfred Ernest Hyde, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 7f in., painter, native of New Zealand, dark complexion and hair, hazel eyes. (See Police Gazette, 1911, pages 577 and 582.) Offender was convicted of theft and ordered to pay costs, but has failed to obey the order. His brother is licensee of the Star Hotel, Auckland.

Wanganui. —lsth instant, on warrant for failing to provide for the maintenance of his ilhgitimace child, Daniel Sweeney, age twenty-eight, height sft. 9 in., soap-maker, native of New Zealand, slim build, fresh complexion, grey eyes, fair hair, clean-shaved, slightly roundshouldered ; dressed in navy-blue suit and hard black hat; wears a ribbon guard watch-chain, with greenstone heart attached, “ Kia Ora” on it. He has a married sister at Napier. Plis mother, and a married sister Mrs. Wooley, reside in Auckland. Complainant, Florence Amy Freeman, domestic, Wanganui.

Wanganui. —lsth instant, on warrant for failing to comply with a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Margaret Pinsent, Wicksteed Street, Wanganui, Alfred Frederick Pinsent, age thirty-two, height 6 ft., platelayer, native of England, heavy build, very dark complexion, dark eyes, black hair, dark moustache only; dressed in brown-check suit and hard black hat. On the 23rd ultimo he was in arrears £l6 ss.

Bull’s. —sth instant, on warrant of commitment to Wanganui Gaol for seven days in default of paying £1 3s. fine arid costs for being drunk and disorderly, Michael Delaney, age forty-four, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of Ireland, slight smart build, fair complexion, clean-shaved except small fair moustache; dressed in dark coat (no vest or shirt, singlet only), grey-tweed trousers, and dark-red hat; carried a swag.

Bull’s. —sth instant, on warrant of commitment to Wanganui Gaol for seven days in default of paying £1 3s. fine and costs for being drunk and disorderly, Denis Murphy, ag9 thirty-one, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native of Ireland, stout build, dark complexion, clean-shaved except dark moustache ; dressed in dark suit and brown leggings ; carried a swag.

Taihape. —24th November last, that a summons may be served on him for boarding a train while in motion, James Benjamin Grey, age twenty-five, height 6 ft., labourer, native of England, fair complexion, blue eyes, clean-shaved, slim build, strong English Midland County accent; dressed in grey suit and cap.

Wellington. —lsth instant, on warrant for deserting from the German ship “ Antuco,” Walter Krausch, age eighteen, height 5 ft. 4 in., A. 8., native of Germany, medium build, brownish complexion, brown hair, blue eyes; dressed in brown suit. A reward of £5 will be paid for his apprehension.

Wellington. —2Bth ultimo, on warrant for disobeying an order of Court to pay £1 a week towards the support of his three illegitimate children, the sum of £5 being due up to the 13th March last, Charles Norton Bassenden, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 5 in., driver or steward, native of England, fresh complexion, dark hair, hazel eyes, medium build, scar on left wrist.
