PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland.— 4th instant, on warrant for forgery and uttering, Harold Vincent Harvey, alias H. V. Hargraves, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 3§in., sign-writer and labourer, native of England, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, clean-shaved, irregular teeth ; dressed in dark suit and black hard hat. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 33, and Photographs of D scharged Prisoners, 1911, page 11.) Offender received a cheque for £2 4s. 9d. drawn on 1h.9 Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, by Daniel O’Con nor, farmer, Clevedon, altered the amount to £5 4s. 93., and uttered the forged document to Mary Bonner, Shakespeare Hotel, Auckland.

Freeman's Bay.— 27th May last, on warrant for forging and uttering a cheque for £3 to Elizabeth Collins, College Road, J. Gill (probably fictitious), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, nat ve of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, red hair, clean-shaved; dressed in greenish-brown tweed suit, and much-faded white-straw hat. Offender obtained a blank cheque on the National Bank of New Zealand (Limited), Auckland, filled it in for £3, and forged the signature “ Winstone, Limited.” (See Police

Gazette, 1911, page 253, where offender’s name is wrongly given as “ J. McGill.”)

Cambridge. —29rh May last, on warrant for theft of £4 from William Warrington, farmer, Frank Hampton, age nineteen, height about 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slim build, dark wavy hair, blue eyes, large nose, cleau-shaved ; indolent disposition ; fond of billiards.

Napikr. — Alfred or Cockney Masters, wanted on warrant for failing to comply with maintenance orders: It has been ascertained by Sergeant Harvev, Wellington police, that offender has gone to Svdney. (See Police Ga• zette, 1911, page 286.) (F.P.B. 245/11.)

Hastings. —2lst ultimo, that a summons may be served on him for failing to provide his wife with adequate means of maintenance, Albert Ernest Kearns, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. 6fin., labourer, native of England, medium build, florid complexion, reddish hair, blue eyes, large nose, brown moustache only ; dressed in brown-tweed suit and cap. Dannevirke.— l3th instant, on warrant for failing to provide for the maintenance i bis illegitimate child, Thomas Lyons, age about twenty-two, he ght about 5 ft. 10 in., storeman, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion and hair, clean-shaved. No further description available. Complainant, Louisa Newbury, Keritaki.

Palmerston North. — 271 h ultimo, on warrant for intending to fail to provide bis wife with adequate maintenance, John McDonald Stobie, aee thirty-three, height 5 ft. 8 in., farmer, native of New Zealand, medium build, very dark complexion, black hair, dark eyes, black moustache only. Photograph filed in the Inspector’s Office, Wanganui. Offender is supposed to have come to Wellington, with a view to leaving the Dominion. He may be accompanied by Victoria Maud Membry and baby. Complainant, Fannie Elizabeth Stobie, Ballance.

Otaki. —9th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Edward Arthur Lanaway, age thirty, height 5 ft. 5| in., cook and waiter, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, auburn hair, brown eyes, sharp nose ; fond of drink. Wellington.—2Bth ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply wiih a maintenance order for the support of his il egitimate child, Sydney Sylvester, age thirty, height sft 8 in., insurance canvasser, native of America, medium build, broad shoulders, dark - brown hair (curly in front), hazel eyes, clean-shaved ; Will dressed. Wellington. —loth instant, on warrant for deserting the s.s. “ Duncrag,” Reinerholt Ebert, age twenty, heitht 5 ft. 8 in., A. 8., native ot Germany, well built, dark complexion and hair, blue eyes, full round face.

I.” or “ C. T.” on back of right hand, star on right forearm.

Wellington. —29th ultimo, that he may be served with a summons for assaulting Dominie Smith, William McCarthy, age twemy-five, height 5 ft. 7in. or 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, well built, dark complexion and hair, bluish-grey eyes, small dark moustache only ; dressed in brown suit and hard hat.

Seddonville. —14th instant, on warrant to show cause why an affiliation order should not be made against him for the adequate maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Janies Cairns, age twenty-five or twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 9 in., miner, native of New Zealand, stout build, fair complexion and' hair, all upper teeth missing, cleanshaved ; generally dressed in black suit and cap. Complainant, Lovina Rosin a McLean.

Westport.— Stanley Ross, wanted on warrant for absconding from bail: it has been ascertained that, offender went to Sydney. (See Police Gazette , 1911, page 322 )

Greymouth. —llth instant, on warrant for failing to provide for the adequate maintenance of his illegitimate child, Henry Duggan, age twenty-one, height about 5 ft. 10in., coal-miner, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion, brown ha’r, b'ue eyes, long nose, thin features, clean - shaved ; generally dressed in green - tweed suit and black hard hat. Christchurch.— l3th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Elizabeth Barkwir.h, William G, Barkwifch, age forty-one, height 5 ft. 6Jin., labourer, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, light-brown hair turning grey, blue eves, fair moustache only, prominent front upper teeth, scar on right arm, “ B ” on left arm, dot on right thumb ; slovenly appearance. Christchurch. —2sth March last, on warrant of commitment to Lvttelton Prison for seven days in default of paying £2 18s. costs for medical treatment when remanded on a charge of helpless drunkenness, Henry Cartwright Holden, age forty-one, height 5 ft. 7 in,, painter, native of England, medium build, dark complexion, fair hair, blue eye 3.

Christchurch. —7th instant, on warrant for attempting to leave N»w Zealand with intent to disobey a maintenance order, Edwin Powell, age thiny three, height 5 ft. 10in., hrickhtyer, i aiive of New Zealand, slim build, pale complexion, dark hair (.-lightly balo), bluisli-grt-y eyes, thin face, nodceah e artificial upper teeth, clean-shaved; dressed in n ivy-blue suit, green cap and tan boots. Timaru.— lo;h instant, on warrant for failing to provide his wife and three children with adequate maintenance, Joseph Patrick Corcoran, age forty-nine, height 5 ft. loin., farmer, native of Ireland, fairly stout build, Jight-brown hair turning grey, blue eyes, closely trimmed and pointed beard, fairly heavy light-brown moustache; prohibited under the Licensing Acts; dressed in navy-blue suit and drab-coloured soft-felt hat.
