Auckland.— 4th instant, on warrant for forgery and uttering, Harold Vincent Harvey, alias H. V. Hargraves, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 3§in., sign-writer and labourer, native of England, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, clean-shaved, irregular teeth ; dressed in dark suit and black hard hat. Offender received a cheque for £2 4s. 9d. drawn on 1h.9 Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, by Daniel O’Con nor, farmer, Clevedon, altered the amount to £5 4s. 93., and uttered the forged document to Mary Bonner, Shakespeare Hotel, Auckland.

Freeman's Bay.— 27th May last, on warrant for forging and uttering a cheque for £3 to Elizabeth Collins, College Road, J. Gill (probably fictitious), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, nat ve of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, red hair, clean-shaved; dressed in greenish-brown tweed suit, and much-faded white-straw hat. Offender obtained a blank cheque on the National Bank of New Zealand (Limited), Auckland, filled it in for £3, and forged the signature “ Winstone, Limited.” (See Police

Cambridge. —29rh May last, on warrant for theft of £4 from William Warrington, farmer, Frank Hampton, age nineteen, height about 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slim build, dark wavy hair, blue eyes, large nose, cleau-shaved ; indolent disposition ; fond of billiards.

Photograph filed in the Inspector’s Office, Wanganui. Offender is supposed to have come to Wellington, with a view to leaving the Dominion. He may be accompanied by Victoria Maud Membry and baby.
